Pain near the liver can be from many things, including things that have nothing to do with the liver.
There is too little information to even know how to begin to speculate on what happened to your friend.
Hopefully the doctors can shed some light on this.
In the meantime, obviously this person should not drive.
BTW:This forum deals primarily with hcv, treatment and symptoms.
Good luck for you and your friend.
OH
I am so sorry to here about your friend. Pretty scary. I hope everyone is ok. My sister had a severe medical incident ( nothing Luke this) that caused he black out and wreck. Fortunately no one was hurt. It is very frightening to say the least.
There are a number of people that gave dealt with many sides caused by liver damage, cancer, or tx as you know. Hopefully some of them may have some better input than mine. I believe cat scans can show blood masses, cancer, infections, gallstones, and probably other anomalies too. You likely will not know for sure until The doctor can review the additional tests and make a diagnoses. I hope your friend heals quickly.
