Pegylated interferon and Ribavirin

by Charles, Oct 21, 2000 12:00AM
Thank you very much for providing this very valuable information resource.  I have had Hep C (genotype 2) for 20 - 30 years, and was diagnosed 6 years ago. At that time, I considered interferon mono-therapy, but decided against it considering the low success rate, the potential side-effects, and the fact that the disease has so far impaired my lifestyle only to a relatively minor degree.  Now I am considering interferon/ribavirin combo therapy.  However, before making a final decision, I would like to see what the effectiveness of pegylated interferon/ribavirin therapy will be.  Can you tell me when the Phase III clinical trial results will be known, and how long the approval process normally takes once the Phase III results are known?  Thank you in advance for any answers you can provide.  These are very big questions on my mind right now.

Sincerely,
Charles
