Opps...my bad I miss read the post. Idyllic is correct that in two weeks you will have your 4 wk VL taken.
See what Vic does to you?! :)
"You will have a viral load taken in two weeks which will be your lead in viral load (or drop) before you start taking your Victrellis. "

I think Idyllic meant to say you will have a viral load taken in four weeks. :)
How long you treatment is going to be will depend on what your viral load is at certain intervals of your treatment.
You will have a viral load taken in two weeks which will be your lead in viral load (or drop) before you start taking your Victrellis.
You will have another viral load four weeks after that which at that point will be eight weeks.
Here is a chart (Ideally you want to be UND by week 8)

I was on 28 weeks (24 on Victrelis) and in July it will be a year since I finnished tx. It was hard but so worth it, now that I'm SVR. It changed me in so many ways and I wouldn't have been without that experience. All-in-all just positive experience. My worst side effect were low hgb and because I didn't get any helper drugs for it, I had about 15 blood transfusions...
I feel better than before tx and I think had some side effects of having hcv that I wasn't aware of before. Not so tired any longer, less moody and generally more happy and light in my mind after tx.
Very best of luck to you!
I was on 48 weeks total. 44 weeks after lead in. Undetectable at week 6. 2 weeks after starting vic. - Libby
I was in a trial and have been SVR for almost 2 years now. It was tough but as I have cirrhosis I expected it. It is very doable. I think that the Vic has less side effects than the teliprivir but you really have to watch your blood counts. I was on procit and neupogen most of the tx. It works though and I was considered a hard to tx person because of my cirrhosis. Hang in there ...you'll make it!
