Possible Exposure

Hello,

I work as a cashier in a bank and I deal with lots of paper currency on a day to day basis and a lot of them various stains on them. I had a cut around my finger nail which wasn't bleeding but the skin underneath had been exposed. Now, my question is can I catch hepatitis if any of the currency note contaminated with the virus touched my cut?

Everyone handles money. If this was a way to contract hepatitis C, the rate of infection would be much higher than 3% of the population. I think you are safe.

Considering that the infection rate for a health care worker with a needle stick injury from a KNOWN hep c positive patient is only 1.8%, I think your pretty safe, if your worried you can always get tested.
