Post TX Fatigue

Has any post tx’ers had periods of fatigue that have last longer than a week of so and then go back to normal? I would like to think that it is PTS and is pure physiological but am beginning to wonder. My blood work looked good in February and again in March both UND but have been having bouts of fatigue in the afternoon since about the middle of May and am just wondering if any Post Tx’ers have had similar experiences in the first 4 months of post.

Yeah I'd like to know also. I finished about6-7wks ago and the fatique some other s/es are really kicking my ***. The depression, tired, pretty intense pain in knee joints. This has surprized me. I didn't expect it to be so hard. Treatment kicked my ***, now this too!. From looking around I've heard many different time frames. Some say 3 months, some say 3 to 6months, some say 6 to 12months. Don't know how I am going to go back to work again.
Take care Jasper

Im 4 yrs post tx, I still suffer fatigue, but in saying that I have suffered it as a symptom of HCV since 1989.  It just got worse and worse as time went on.
Then I did the tx and I relapsed, and the fatigue is just part of my life now, just have to learn to live with it.
I take vitamins/supplements that have helped me a great deal, but there is still an underlying fatigue feeling in me that wont go, even with rest it lingers on.

We all dont experience this, so dont worry about it, just take each day as it comes and fingers crossed that you wont have any problems after treatment.

Cheers

Leah - awesome - I am over halfway there now... Cool beans. I can totally love that idea. That I'll be gaining some energy back. I'll be looking for it.

There is an older guy (mid 70's) (not really old - just older than me... Funny, as I get older - people who looked old to me in my 20's are starting to look "HOT" to me now... LMAO!) anyhow....

Anyways.... I was talking to my GP doc in the middle of my TX where he just couldn't understand why I was feeling so bad. Because... this older guy had taken TX about 2 years prior --- and had just come in to see him saying that he was going to do a WalkAbout Tour in Europe - since he had never felt so good in his life.

That has always stuck in my mind as interesting because I felt horrid... Anyhow..........

The main gist of that whole story was that 2 years after completion of the TX, this gentleman felt like going on a WalkAbout Tour...

So maybe Leah's idea of about 2 years is dead on the money.

That's food for thought.

Hugs y'all --- and here's some Emergen C.

Hi Denise,

Hey! Congratulation!!! Yeah, even after were off the meds for some time the resonation of them lingers in the intercellular fluids and tissue and has not been completely flushed out of our systems and am hoping that these bouts are just smaller pockets being filtered out, forgot about that, well there goes that euphoria dream we share when first ending treatment as we keep moving forward, lol.

Jools!!!

You rolling stone you, it is amazing the challenges we can achieve when we focus all our energies to a central point to move us forward even though we get cuts and burses along the way but as long as that Red Rubber Ball keeps on rising we keep moving. Hey! New surroundings, new job after a grueling 48 week triathlon, I’m getting fatigued just thinking about it, lol. Thanks!

Merry, merry, merry, my grasp for reality,

At our age, lol! I keep forgetting that I’m older than I once was but not as old as I’ll be tomorrow, the siesta thing is new to me and is a little disturbing and my resistance is waning some what here in trying to fight it but I think it’s winning in the long run, damn that *****!

Dude-et,

It’s a good thing you’re married and live so far away, but then again Atom Ant would have a hard time keeping up with you, lol. I am tiring of the hang over, this ***** Here’s Luvs to ya! Sunshine.

Thanks Ladies, were all moving in the same direction and will find our own equilibrium at some point in time and here’s hoping for shorter treatment in the future for those who still have to treat or retreat. Dang, I think I just talked myself into feeling better and as the saying goes, wheebles wobble, but we don’t fall down, well, most of the time, lol, Thanks!

Jasper - dude... I can't reply cause I'm too tired to type... LMAO!

Yeah - fatigue is a big one.

Neuropathy is another --- some of us will get all sorts of sides that last long term - and others will only get a few things --- and still others get nada - and do just fine.

It's the roll of the dice - and unfortunately it's the price we pay to rid ourselves of HCV.

And still again unfortunately - it's in all the medicine literature.

The only thing I think is that a lot of people associate all sides with the TX and the HCV --- and forget that other things happen too.

BUT - on that note - I think TX speeds up the progression of other diseases that would normally happen... Like it jumps up the age of your DNA diseases (arthritis, etc.) that would have happened when you were 60 --- you'll get now - at 40. etc.

Like it turns on those markers or something.

Anyhow - that's just my reasoning on it.

And you're not abnormal feeling "hung over" or tired for about a year - to a year and a half after TX.

Hugs,

Meki

man, at our age....any afternoon without fatigue is a rarity.
check it out, your dog naps every afternoon...maybe he's on to something!!!!!!

But seriously....lots of spanish cultures have evolved the siesta as a response to what nature is telling them.  If you stay off caffiene, you can usually get a power nap...20-60 minutes...and then tango till midnight. The nap is highly underrated.

I've been feeling fatigue off and on for the last week or so. It'll hit me for a couple of days, and then it goes. I'm chocking it up to relocating to So Ca, and the new job.
Riba stays in our system for so long, it's no wonder we still experience sx.
Hope you are having a grrrate! weekend.
