Post TX Symptoms

I finished my last shot on February 2, last pills on February 9.  I'm still feeling tired and nauseous sometimes just like on TX.  However, a new symptom has appeared.  I have terrible joint pain in my right hip radiating down my leg. It comes and goes. Has anyone else experienced this?  NYgirl just finished the same time.  How are you feeling?

Honestly I haven't had any yet and I'm glad because it sounds HORRIBLE.

I am still lethargic but I'm feeling like I'm not looking so GREY.  For a long time I felt like my skin was just this horrible blue grey shade and no amount of foundation or blush or anything could cover it up.

I guess that's SOMETHING. ;)

It's hard. I finished at the same time and wanted INSTANT gratification I tell you. I wanted it to be like BAM I'm ALL BETTER!

But I have the feeling for some of us it might take quite a while to get these meds out of our bodies.  I figure after taking them for so long they are in all of the portionns of our cells and just everywhere.

it's not easy waiting. BUT we are on the right road.

I hope the pain goes away. For the past month I've had joint pain in each and every single joint it seems that I have. But I figured it was just from having so much meds for so long...then one night I realized that the ambien was sort of making me be "asleep awake" and i found myself sitting up in bed in the oddest way ---and I realized it was probably cause of this that I had such bad pain.

I can't WAIT to get rid of the Ambien LOL.

ALL my best to you Rosy. :)

Pain in the hip going down the leg is often sciatica.  I'm starting to get some, as I tend to do whenever I'm inactive.  But it's been just impossible on tx for me to get to the gym and do my usual stuff.  Now that you're done, I would strongly recommend beginning an exercise program, but don't over-do it.  Most important for sciatica is strengthening the abs and stretching out the back.  And then add other muscle groups and aerobics.  If that doesn't help, then I'd see a physician.

ROSYGIRL:
I am post tx since Thanksgiving 06 and boy do I have these pains.  In the hip and radiates to leg, some nights it keeps me awake if I am sleeping on my right hip (worst of the two), but it is not the only joint.  I was in pretty good shape when I started tx and through tx it was impossible to stay active.  Even when I did try it would wipe me out. Hang in there girl things do get crazy sometimes on this stuff, during and after tx.

PIGEONCA:  Thanks for the information, I have been trying to keep a mild work out going, but it has been hard dealing with my husbands cituation right now; not much time to even know my name on some days. LOL
I will start making an effort to work out more often, even if it is for just 20-30 minutes a day.
It seems that my back and hip go together with this pain.  I almost feel 90 yrs old on some days trying to just stand up and straighten up from a chair.  Some days or worst than others. I also have serious headaches post tx, would that be from the vertebrate not being strong enough.
Thanks again for the heads up on getting in shape again might help with not having pain in the long run.
I see my hep doctor again in March so I will ask him then as well.

Sounds like sciatica to me.

Aleve, NSAIDS, anti-inflamatories, celebrex all help.  You have to rest that area as much as possible until it heals.

Thanks for your comments.  Ibuprofen takes away the pain thankfully.  I also am looking forward to feeling good.  Just can't wait.  I'm so glad the TX is over!

I don't often post but I read a lot of comments.  Thanks NYGIRL for getting me through a lot of days I felt so bad.  You are a inspiration to everyone.

I ended TX in late Jul. Joint pains started almost immediately. Both hips left shoulder and elbow and both knees. I'm still dealing with the joint problems right now!

On the flip side, I didn't do much exercise on TX and gained 20 lbs immediately after TX. This may have contributed to joint problems.

I beleive that bone (joints/teeth) problems are a documented side effect of INF therapy but I couldn't tell you where I read that.

I hope you feel better soon
Peace

NSAIDs and anti-inflammatory's are toxic to the liver, I would avoid them if you can.  Paracetamol is the best pain killer to take, but only up to 2grams a day.
