Post TX bloods...A BIT WORRY

by Andrei24, Nov 09, 2009 03:12PM
Hy there again,

I finish my tx 5 weeks ago. 6 weeks from my last shot, and 5 weeks from my last riba.

My status is :

24 years old male, from Romania, was bx A2F3 (stage 3), don`t know what geno because in Romania they dont do the genotype.

Baseline PCR (before 1st shot): 200 000 ui
2 week PCR 159 ui
4 week PCR <15
12 week PCR  UND
22 week PCR  UND
36 week PCR   UND
48 week PCR   UND
64 week PCR   UND

Treated with pegasys 180    weekly for 65 weeks, and with 1200 ribavirin daily for 11 months, after that incresed riba to 1600 daily for 5 months.

I am a bit worry, because my ALT today ,5 weeks post tx, was 37 (lab limit under 41)  5 weeks post tx.

ALT 1 week after TX was 50 ,  2 weeks post was 32, and 3 weeks was 30.5.

I am a bit worry to be honest with you. I must to wait 3 more weeks for my 8 weeks PCR, after that 2 more weeks to wait the result .....so I`m in stress until then.

What do you think .... do I must to worry? Please tell me your opinion about this ALT raise after tx. Be honest please :)

My guess is that your ALT is within the range of normal.  And, it appears that it is going lower.  Although most people are jittery before a post-treatment PCR, I don't think your situatiion should be at all alarming to you and if anything it's good news.

Thanks FlGuy,

I pray to God to help me , and hope that in 5 weeks I will give you the good news, UND at my 8 weeks post PCR :)

Dont worry they go up and down a little bit all of the time.  I got worried one day and made an appointment with the doctor saying it was an emergency and he laughed at me and told me I was being silly :)

You have been UND since week 4 for sure - your odds are very, very good.

Be calm - I know it's not easy but you have the makings of great success on your side!

My alt or ast (forget which) went up to 30 six months post TX and I was a nervous wreck.  It went back to 19 and all my worrying was for nothing.  It sounds like you are well on your way to SVR.
