Finally got to see the Doc. today.  It seems my temp. is 39.2, heart rate is 120.  Still feeling lousy, they want me to go to the ER.

My injection day is tomorrow, don't know what to do, what if i'ts the sx. of Tx??  What happens if I miss a shot??  I've come so far and relatively easily.  Hate to ruin things now.

I guess my decision is (flawed as it may be) (please let me know if I'm being stupid)  I will make it through the night, Clinic opens at 7:30 AM, Check with them reinjection, and see what they have to say about Hosp.

I'm a little afraid of my decision making abilities now, burning up, eyes bleary.

What to do!   Thanks Lynne

(Putting on my mother voice) Go to the ER. Heart rate shouldn't be that high. Doesn't matter if it's a sx of the tx, they should look at it.

Take your interferon and riba with you to the ER. My GF was very sick during treatment and had to go to ER several times. She was always able to do her injection while in there; they would rehydrate her, and deal with any other problems she had at the time. You’d feel very foolish to take an ambulance later tonight if you became to ill to drive.

I agree with GreatBird; get your tushy down there :o). Let us know how it goes,

Bill

O.K. - What about my injection, should I take it with me?  What if they keep me there and I miss it.

I'm with Bill on that. Bring your meds with you.

Take the meds in a cooler (for the IFN).  Anybody medical you can ask about the relationship of your current illness and effect of adding a fresh dose of IFN?  They will certainly do a CBC with ANC on you and if it's very low, you may not want to risk it until they do another and it's come up.

The redipen label says "If you miss a dose take as soon as possible the same day or the next day, then continue on your regular dosing schedule.  If several days go by after you miss a dose, check with your healthcare provider about what to do. Do not double the next dose or take more than one dose a week without talking to your health care provider".

So you can safely take it a day late.  If you end up having to skip this dose, remember that a lot of us have missed doses for excessively low platelets and/or ANC.  Can't remember when you cleared but you are so far along that your body will just keep doing what it's doing for a little while even without the meds.  Try very hard, if hgb is safe, not to miss any riba.  You can reduce interferon but keeping riba reduced for long will screw things up.   Good luck, hope you feel better soon.

Man!  You guys are the best, this hasn't happened to me but I never would've thought to take the stuff with me to ER but I definitely would be heading there!!  Good luck to you Lynno...keep us posted.

I was in the hospital for approx half of my tx.  The hospital pharmacy kept riba on hand but not the pegasys shot, so if I was going to be in on a Friday I took my own shot with me.
