Potassium Def other posts

Hi there everybody.  Well, before I ever started the juicing thing, I was having these weird cramps/contractors in my fingers and toes.  This had gone on for several days.  I was feeling really weird, too. I started eating bananas and drinking Gatorade, but it wasn't really improving that much. So, I had remembered that my Dr. had recently prescribed a vitamin drug to me called Folbic.  I called their office to ask them if this could be a side effect, I asked them about whether it could cause a potassium deficiency.  They then, told me that yes, the Folbic can cause a potassium deficiency. I thought, wonderful, like, why didn't you tell me this up front.  Oh yea, and when I started juicing I used the beets and celery and then, I found out after reading some of your posts that the beets were diuretic.  So, now, I get really worried.  I stopped the Folbic 3 days ago and I've increased my postassium intake for the last 3 days.  Well, the cramps aren't quite so bad, it's gone down to just feeling constant tingling in my hands/fingers and my feet/toes and my whole body is feeling out of sync.  I don't know if any of this is aggravated by the coming off of treatment, the steroids that were recently injected via epidural (over the last month), or my recent juicing, but I really don't feel like my normal self at all.  I actually felt better when I was on my Hep C drugs, before I started the Folbic, if you can believe that!  I just want to feel more normal and functional.

I don't think its the juicing.  I had the low potassium thing, too.  It was caused by my failing liver.  I took supplimental potassium in addition to the normal vit and mins I take.

Using food(juicing, teas, etc) medicinally and nutritionally takes time.  results won't be seen for days or more likely wks or mos.  Pills are the instant 'fix', not herbs or juices.

One has to eat tons of bannanas to equalize a diff.  As to beets, just dilute the juice or use just a little beet and other veggies.

Gatorade can dehydrate b/c of all the sugars, mod corn suryps and other additives.  This can further unbalance your body.  Be kind to your liver and drink tea.

I agree w/ Gallium....could very well be a magnesium deficiency.  I've always used it when I had muscle cramping of any kind and it's worked immediately.
