I just had a baby myself. I found out I had hep c at 6 months. I went ahead and had a c-section. The transmission rate is only about 5% with a vaginal delivery though, but a c-section takes this down to almost nothing. My baby is negitive and healthly.

Your baby will be just fine! congrats!

I found out I had Hep C when I was 4 months pregnant with my 3rd child.  I have since had a fourth child and both were vaginal deliveries with amniocenthesis and I breast fed both.  My kids are now 2 and 3 yrs old and are both negative.  Just make sure if your wife breast feeds, that her nipples don't get dry and cracked.  You can get more info from the Le leche League online.  Good luck!!!

as long as you are not treating your Hep C yet then all should be fine.  They just warn seriously about treating with Ribavirin and pregnancy.  After the baby is born if you do decide to treat then it will be ok also.
