Primary Care Physican or Liver Specialist--does it matter?

by GRATEFUL, Jul 25, 2003 12:00AM
What are your thoughts about receiving treatment/care/follow-up from a Liver Specialist versus one's Primary Care Physician?

Why don't you ask your primary Care Physican to recomend a specialist? My doctor reccomended someone, they work out of the same hospital, they respect each other and they work well together. My primary gets a copy of all my test so he is the one that takes care of things like my antidepressants, and pain killers. This way he also knows what is going on so if I need any other medications for anything else he knows what I can and cannot have.
