Procrit and refrigeration

I failed to refrigerate husband's Procrit for approx. 24 hrs. Is it ruined?

Is it single use or multi-use vials ? Multi-use has preservatives, single use does not. Call the pharmacy.

My husband once left my procrit out of the fridge for 24 hours too.  We called the doc and he said it was OK, it just weakens the solution a little. Mine are single use vials.

I think you will be fine. I did it once - it might have been Neupogen, might have been procrit. Anyway, which ever it was I called the 800 number and they told me they had tested it with like a 3 day exposure to room temp - and as long as it was not hot it was OK. Also, they cautioned me that it was a one time deal, they hadn't tested multiple cold-warm-cold-warm cycles. You get one free pass.

My hemo doc leaves the procrit out all day. They take the med tray of the fridge in the morning and put it back in at closing. I've asked about it a couple of times and they all say no problem.
