Procrit on treatment

Question for everybody who knows the answer. That is: At which point they start giving Procrit (Neupoge) of treatment ( I believe it depends on status of white bloot cells, and trombocytes, ) , but nobody ever mentiond a period for how long they have been taking it, like one month, two months, three, etc...maybe till the end of therapy? I want to know this because if I start a new round, and face anemia (which is more then probably), I need to know the expenses, because I will have to pay this therapy on my onw, and will have also to count on this expense.
Would be more then gratefull , if someone gives me the right answer. Thanks in advance!

Procrit helps your body produce red blood cells not white. Most doctors wait until your HGB drops to 10 before starting you on procrit. I started procrit at about week 8 of tx and was on it until the end. One 40000 unit cost around 700.00 so unless you have really good ins. it can be very expensive.
