His HGB is 11.5. I was wrong when I thought it was 9. However, he was 15.5 when he started tx which means he was down 4 units. We found out that the study won't pay for Procrit until he's below 10. His gp took him off of blood pressure meds since he's lost weight. That has helped him a bit, but I think it's time to try the Provigil. Just hate the thought of him having to take another drug unless it's really going to help.
T: thanks, it was pretty pitiful, but I love that original James Brown version
Scaredwife: I posted to you earlier about this drug. At the time you were more worried about the HGB. Did it turn out to be fatigue from the drugs?
HUGS to all....I feel good!!

This morning is day 5 on the Provigil. Over the weekend we hosted a large birthday party which include me mowing, trimimming, sweeping, washing, etc. This morning I feel great again.
So....what's the downside here? I've read up on Provigil but does anyone know anything about like. I'm expecting somebody to produce a report that it rots your liver in five days of use or less or negates all HCV treatment....
Again, I feel good and look forward to a busy day of work.
There's so much crappy side to talk about that it's refreshing when a drug actually helps you feel better.
Great news! I'll tell my husband to get a script from the study doc when we go tomorrow. The doc had mentioned it as a solution for fatigue. Glad to know it works. He's been so fatigued he couldn't do anything and I've been so worried about him. Thanks for letting us know!
Yes, congratulations!!
All the best!!
I'm so glad it's working for you. I've got to get myself some of that!
Thanks for letting us know of sx.

I've heard the same thing about Provigil. Dr. Greg Everson in his book, "Hepatitis C, a Survivor's Guide", mentions Provigil. Great post by the way.
Mike's song:
"Whoa-oa-oa! I feel good, I knew that I would, now
I feel good, I knew that I would, now
So good, so good, I got Provigil!
Whoa! I feel nice, like sugar and spice
I feel nice, like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I posted twice!"
Hey glad it's helping. I take Adderall for my attention deficit disorder, and found out some dr's prescribe it for sides during tx. Whatever it takes!
