Question

I visited the er last night due to reaction to bactrim. The nurse before i left in the room took my blood pressure. When she removed the cuff i noticed a dime size spot of dried blood. As she seen me look at it she flipped it on to the bed.I have small cuts on my hands due to excessive hand washing and when she pulled the cuff a piece rubbed my hand.Im not sure if the piece that hit my hand contained the blood but im nervous as the room i was in was a room for seperated people with its own bathroom.Im thinking like a quarentine room the cuff was attached to the wall.My sister was there and she told me to wash my hands but i was afraid i would contaminate myself so when i got home i showered. Also on that arm i had a small pimple but im sure wasnt open.

I am also not typing very well.I was trying to say 'see if the Anxiety Forum can hlep you find some tx for your anxiety' and that ''I am not diagnosing...'

Ah, well, nobody said I was perfect!

Ohn, on that deep breath I told you to take..don't forget to exhale.

I am not making light of your worries, just trying to get you to look at them realistically and lighten up.  You really can make youself sick by worrying too much.

relax!

Blessings,

Pat

That is like asking how many angels can dance on the head of a pin.  There is no way any of us can answer - we were not there.

Please see  Dr about tx for anxiety -- and quit making yourself sick worrying 'what if' about things that as so little likely to happen!  There are enough real things to think about in your life.

It was a hospital, the Drs, nurses, and all staff are humans and, probably, overworked.  Things do get overlooked -- or look like something they are not.

DON'T worry!  Take a really deep breath and see if the Anxiety Forum has any help for,you on getting tx for your anciety and, possibly, OCD (I am not diagnosisn OCD, just describing what your behavior sounds like to me, a layperson, not a Dr).

Don't mean to be harsh, but you do need to snap out of this mode.

no risk of Hep C but in my opinion (I am not a doctor) you would be a much happier person if you were not so worried about things like this

and once you are no longer a "nervous guy", you can enjoy your life

I did have cuts all over my hands from washing them with antibacterial soap.I read u can get it if dried blood touched eczema.Im really nervous about this and i know that it wasnt like i shared needles but people get nfected never knowing how and the fact that this virus lives outside the body and medical professionals take such precautions worries me.

No. Infected blood has to enter your blood stream. There is only a miniscule chance that dried blood has infective hepatitis C in it. That only happens in a perfect environment. Then it would have to enter an open bleeding wound. There is NO risk. If you continue to worry I would respectfully suggest a visit to the anxiety forums.
