You'll probably get several responses but keep in mind that with a co-infection there could be other factors that come into play when you talk to the doc. Inital questions, if you don't already know, geno type, liver condition from the recent bx, other lab values, how much experience the doc has in tx'ing patients who are co-infected. Get copies of everything. Have you considered the UM docs any further?
Yes get copies of EVERYTHING as soon as the tests are done. It can be CRUCIAL to have your own hard copies of every single test in the future - and also it's best if you learn what all of the results mean so YOU can keep on eye on where YOUR labs stand.
I'd make sure to ask about rescue drugs - Ie: Procrit and Neupogen. Does the doc prescribe them and at what level. Procrit (Epogen in my case) SAVED my course of tx. Without it I could not have continued.
off topic - Does anyone get sporatic (?) pins and needles. Hubby this weekend said every so often when working he would get hot and then like a cool breeze would hit him and he would feel pins and needles, like maybe his head and arm or next time just a leg. No one place. He just did shot 33 thurday.
Roaming,
VERY common while on treatment. The first few months it almost drove me CRAZY I tell you! I am sure someone has a complicated explanation on why it happens or something which I surely don't understand...but I can just say, it's something that comes and goes for sure. I had it bad but now it's totally gone.
I had it in my fingertips though...not all over the place like that but it doesn't sound much different I don't think.
I get pins and needles all the time. Drives you nuts.
thank you for your reply. He had them in his finger tips for the very 1st shot but not since then. It has only been the last couple of days and in different spots.
Good to see you post. I did experience mild cases of this at the beginning, but not for quite sometime. Wow your husband is just trucking along there. I just did 44/48. Almost over. He only has 15 left now.
Hope all else is well with you and your family. Can you believe that the holidays are already upon us. YIKES!!!
Have a great week.

I don't know your age but if your up to 50 like me, make sure they give you a base line side effect tests; thyroid TSH, check for SED Rate and Cronogyolima(sp?),hypoglicimia(sp),and possible nerve damage from the Int/Rib treatment.
Good luck, and keep copies and ask questions.
