Actually the ANA test is done as part of the diagnostic process to detect certain autoimmune diseases. IFN use can cause an autoimmune condition and that is why they use this test is to make sure you do not already have one, which the IFN will most likely cause to worsen if you did use it.

I just compeleted my blood work and my hepatolgist tested ANA also along with AIH....when testing to determine my VL ..soon after my biopsy was done.

You dont have HepA or HepB. You Have HepC-G1a.
ANA is testing for Lupus, you dont have it.
You Doctor seems to be testing for diseases associated with HepC.
Good Doc very thorough.
Might be an idea to post all the blood test in one go it gives a better picture.
