RIBA questions the ins and outs

Hey everyone,
So since I started tx I stopped using body wash, perfume, fabric softener, lotions with no perfume, so on and so forth. Can I use any of these things now?  I guess I have been to afraid to use anything really for fear of the rash. I'm in wk 17 and I haven't had any rashes. Just brain fog, bone body pain hair loss mild itching and extreme fatigue. What can I do and not do? Other than water.

This may not be for everyone but what my skin really loved was pure virgin coconut oil. It is solid when cooler than room temp, but once it is in your hand it melts to an oil. My skin just drinks it in.
I am kind of an old lady but I think it has kept my skin pretty supple and happy. :)
It is also less expensive than a lot of lotions.

I'm end stage so I went as perfume and dye free as I can before tx. It helps with skin rashy during tx. We have to consider that skin is our largest organ and the liver has to filter everything. I love lotions etc, but now use natural products. Let me know if you want my list of easy on the skin/liver stuff.
Sounds like you're doing great avoiding the rash! mzkity - good tips!

It is limiting! Somebody who's completed treatment is going to give you good answer. I have the rash on arms and legs but keeping it at bay with the medication the derm gave me. I'm on week 13? I can't even remember my brain is so bad!! But I gave up a free glycol peel. No exfoliating scrubs. No body wash. Still use dove soap and cetaphil bar soap in the shower. Also the liquid cetaphil is in kitchen & bath counter. Best thing I ever did. I was destroying my hands with kohls liquid hand soap. I still use fabric sheets. Stayed with the same laundry soap. If your going to try new stuff introduce one thing at a time so if something happens you will know the culprit. Hair dye is ammonia free. I don't wear deodorant unless I go out. Ok I'll stop!!!  Good luck star!!   Kitty
