What's the deal w/ a preexisting condition. I thought that would automatically cancel if you went 6 or 12 months w/o treatment for that condition, or crossed an open enrollment period.

I always thought the same thing about open enrollment in a group plan too, but now that I will be eligible for insurance at my new job in 60 days, I've been reading all the plan documents.

Of the three plans they offer, only one states that it covers pre-existing conditions from day one. (the HMO plan)

The other two both have waiting periods.  So, I guess I'm stuck with the HMO since I will be in the middle of treatment at that point.  I hope I can stockpile some drugs, because I just have a feeling that it may be some time before the new insurance "preapproves" everything....
