Red spots on arms and red pimples all over chest and back

I.  I have had these ungodly pimple like redj spots that drive me crazy because after 4 pm they itch all over.  I have tried bath oils, cortizone, nothing seems to work.  Also, I have notice that I have  red spots on my arms that haven't left.
I am on my 16th week, and have never slept so much.  I used to run marathons.  I take anti-depressants anyway, so as long as I sleep 11 hours a day I am fine.  Am a criminal lawyer but cut way back.  (When I represent all these drug addicts I often think, if they only knew).  Anyway, it is so good to hear from other people.  I just want my energy back.  Have had hep c for 30 years (am 65 now).

I have lupus or SlE it can manifest as rashes usually on the face but my vasculities is pimple looking like that for sure is related to the hep c    Do they fade away or do they have any ridges around them? Just wondering as I am supposed to start treatment in June and wondering how much things are going to flare up. Also I tried cymbalta and felt like I had a hole in my head. Is there a better one?

my similar symptoms refused to yield to any lotion potion or powder. yesterday doc gave me a prescription for fluoconicide a steroid cream. very expensive in a tiny tube. i have been stretching it by adding crisco fat so i can spread further. well i may be greasy and still have spots but the itch is so much more tolerable. give it a try. best, babs

I was in the bocep anemia trial and developed a "pimple rash" that sounds similar to what you've described.  My doc called it folliculitis and said it was an infection of the hair follicles.  It got worse when I used moisturizing creams for the tx dry skin. It didn't respond to steroid creams or topical anitbiotics, but finally is clearing up (I am in wk 36) with doxycycline (an oral antibiotic).  If you scratch the itch (and it often happens in your sleep) you can get a serious skin infection.  I recommend you consult your doc for sure - you don't need this complication & it is probably treatable!

Thanks for the comment.  Just learned how touse the website.  Yes, my doctor diagnosed me with follicles.  He started me on antibiotics.  The night time scratching has stopped.  I am genotype 3, 18 weeks into the program.  Hawley
