Reinfecting self

So I have been reading up on this forumn that some think it is possible to reinfect yourself while on treatment through your own toothbrushes and razors.  What is the general consensus on this?  Is it all anecdotal or is there a research base on this?  Just wondering if I should make a trip to Sam's club (they sell things, such as toothbrushes and razors in bulk quantities)

I've never seen a study that advised changing toothbrushes or razors daily and the exact moment when someone becomes UND would be impossible to determine.

Well put trin, my doctor said as much. Unless you changed every time you used them you could never know. That said i did change my toothbrush after i became und but then i thought about it and heck it took a week to get the und results back so by then the damage would have already been done.......Stay well cjsam, wishing you the best.

Personal choice.  Some are not comfortable with idea of using the same toothbrush and razor, others proceed without much thought.

I've never seen a study that advised changing toothbrushes or razors daily and the exact moment when someone becomes UND would be impossible to determine.  If I'm not mistaken, MerryBe changed personal hygiene items daily or regularly and was UND at or around 24 wks until the end of treatment but relapsed.

I changed toothbrushes every six months, razors weekly, went UND around wk 16 and stayed that way throughtout the remainder of my treatment.  Even though I did not SVR, at no time did a PCR after wk 24 show detectable.

Whatever your comfortable with is my opionion and if it were a must on treatment it would be incorporated into the current standard of care long ago.
