Retreat-TatorTot

Sorry I didnt keep up with your tx(s)!
I am hoping like hell you beat it this time too.  Keep posting results...
I dont know my histology and never have.  Am trying to schedule a biopsy now.
What made you turn around and retx right away?  Was the regimen different?

I think you are confusing "Tator" with "Kalio". Tator I believe is SVR or very close to it. Kalio is re-treating.

JmJm is Correct..... I go for my one year POST TX PCR Next month... I have a good feeling about it because the last pcr I had done was @ 4 mon post tx, & I was still undetectable this time!

My treatment was "optional" both times as I had little to no liver damage... however I treated & Retreated so quickly because I had only a small window of INSURANCE opportunity to get it done!

Since I was no longer working & my (THEN) youngest dausghter was not 18... I qualified for medicaid, which is why I was in such a panic when I had to retreat as I knew there was not enough time to get a full second round in before my youngest turned 18 (had the ol Doc merely extended me the first time, I might NOT of HAD to retreat) I also had a theory going, that if I jumped right back in while the virus was "wounded" (so to speak) that maybe it wouldn't have time to replicate & mutate into becoming resisant to the current meds!

Sure enough the day my daughter turned 18, the insurance was cancelled... Then (even with all the "WELL ADVANCED" notice) my doc would not fill out the required paperwork for Peg-assist in a timely manner so that I could continue TX without it being disrupted... which resulted in an exchange of words that got me dissmissed as a patient!

Had it not been for the kindness & Generousity of some people on this forum.... I'd of never got as far as I did! I did however manage to get a little over 60 weeks in out of the prescribed 72 for round two...

So no it was the same regime, but I still didn't go the entire distance... However, I do think that retreating in MY situation so quickly, & knocking that virus out again while the count was still so low from the first round, worked in my favor (Hope I don't have to eat those words next month)... Due to the out of pocket expense of the Heptamax test is why I waited to only get a 4 month post pcr... & why I waited to just get this upcomming year out one... any in-between would just be a waste of money as I wouldn't have been able to afford to do anything about it anyway!

Yea, get a biopsy... that way you can see if you can afford to wait, or if you need to look at other options... I did what I did for availablity purposes... If I SHOULD happen to fail... I would still HAVE to wait due to finacial reasons... so by the time I could afford to TX again... the newer meds would probably be out on the market anyways!

The coast has Lyme disease, have you been tested for it?
Have you been in the woods?
I had those symptoms, nobody could find anything, later it was discovered to be Lyme.
That was 1990, I lived in tick country, in the suburbs of New York City.
The tests give notoriously false negatives.

Hey GREAT TO SEE YOU....you posted while I was still typing...LoL

Yea that Dr was a JERK... I still never bothered to right him & say Hey... I'm undetectable... stick that in your ear.... I didn't want to JUNX this year out one, nor did I want to let him complete any statistics on me... I really LOATH that guy for doing that to me...Grr!

Time has been flying here... but I attributed most of that to my grandson keeping me busy!

So you go Tomorrow ehh.. WHEW HOO... Keeping everything I got crossed for you too!!!! I'll be looking for those results in about 10 business days.... I gotta feeling it's gonna be GREAT NEWS Dana... It's just gotta be!!!

I know that feeling of fear... I don't have a slip.. so I just have to find a general practitioner here & request it & pay out of pocket... so I don't have a set time.. it'll just be when I can drop 3 or 400 bucks with new patient cost & all...

Best Of Luck... & I'll be watching for your update!

Ina.. I really "THINK" so too...

Bean... Don't IT!!! WoW.. I can't believe it either!!!

Ya know if I wasn't still suffering form this Christmas Injury (which is PAINFULLY NOT getting any better) & didn't have small memory problems like not remembering my mothers B'day... I couldn't complain!

I have ALWAYS Known my mom's b'day... & know... I can't remember it to save my life... I know it's in February... but I can't remember if it's the 4th or the 6th... & she thinks it's funny & won't tell me... & it is driving me nuts! I mean I got slick this year & just sent the card & e-mailed early just to cover the bases, but that still really Really REALLY Bugs Me...LoL

Other than THAT... I am gonna have to ask the doc next month what is going on with this injury... I hope this isn't going to be permanate damage!

My Right elbow & shoulder are the MOST affected, & the most PAINFUL... but the left side is milder & is just experiancing very notable weakness..

I keep wondering if lifting my grandson & stuff is just continuously reinjuring myself.. I don't know WHAT to think about this...

My better half says it reminds him of when he had tennis elbow (except this is in the shoulders too) like bursitus (sp).. he said I may need steroid shots... & that it took that & about 1 & 1/2 for his to go away...

I certainly HOPE this will not be the case for me.... but I can't imagine a fall having done this much damage....!!....???

I HURT!!!!... & ya'll know I rarely complain... so there is definately SOMETHING to this...I can't continue to live like this.....It HURTS To simply extend my right arm & sometimes it hurts to try to even lift the coffee pot.. It hurts when I reach my arms in the air or over my head just to wash my hair....that's how sensative it is! My arms are so weak they are damn near useless!
& I don't even know what to blame it on... what a mess...Shish!

A few years back (that's my drawl language) I untwisted and untwisted a big ol' (more drawl) extention cord by doing by the cowboy lariat kinda thang (more of same) - sorta spinning it like it was a poodle on too short a leash (hello forsee!). I got some kind of tendonitis in my forearm that was with me for roun'bout (you get the idea) a year. Nasty stuff. Only good thing was it cut down on shower time.

Forgot to say sorry your having probs. Hope it clears up soon. If it were me - I'd avoid that steroid like the plague.

My hepatologist advised me to wait for a cortesone shot until the 3 mos post mark during what he described as that ripping period where the virus was maybe going to come back.

Not to start a bunch of hub-bub - but he's of the mindset that one should think of tx as training the body to efectively fight the HCV unaided - versus the total and complete eradication of the virus. Based on what I've read I tend to agree, and think I would avoid steroids (big time immunosuppressants) for a good long while if at all possible.

Ina... "Holy Cow Batman"..... My Gosh No... no possability of that for me (I don't think) but sure sorrow you ever ended up with it.. WoW!!!

No I haven't been to the woods since approx. august when we went hiking arount Mt Raineer & found a BEAUTIFUL Waterfall.... So even If I had of... the symptoms surely would have shown up before December & it all started with the fall... I have hurt from that day forward... It almost sounds more like what goofers mentioned to me.

I must be nieve, cause I thought those ticks we're only in the south, & I never even thought about Washington having ticks or fleas because of being so far up... but I guess the summers are warm enough here for breeding... Prior to that I've been up in Alaska & even fleas are non existant there.. but the mosquitoes make up for it...LoL

Goofers... LoL... your "drawl" could use a little work..LMAO
You're a funny guy...you "ALWAYS" manage to crack me up about something... LoL

Didn't know steroids were something we should stay away from, TKS for the heads up... but Damn it sounds like it might be what you mention (Of-course HOW you managed to do that, I'll never know).. But Gp Figure... I guess it's just one of those things that can happen.... I've been dealing with this for almost 3 months & I son't know which is worse.. this or the CTS I occationally got on TX... at least the CTS was hit or miss... this **** NAGS on me!
