Riba Reduction

After almost 7 weeks on procrit (first 2 at 40000, & next 5 at 60000). My hct today is down to 23.5 from 25.4 last week.
I am currently on 1000mg riba / day. The doc wants me to drop to 600 / day. I talked him into trying 800 / day for the next week along with another 60000 procrit and see how it goes.
I was und at weeks 4 & 11, and don't want to jepordize my chances.
Shot # 14 is tonite.

Would that put your hemoglobin at about 8.0 currently?

When my hgb got down to 8.7 , at 8 weeks, my doc dropped my riba to 600 from 1200 and then gradually brought me back up to 1000 over 2 mos time.  I will do shot 40 on friday and am still UND.  so going to 800 you should be ok especially being a RVR.  Good luck

If I'm not mistaken you are geno 2 right?
The austrian study says 400 mg RIBA daily for genos 2 and 3's that RVR elicits the same response as 800 mg per day.... If you're anemic I would discuss that option with the doc. I know you're over 60 but if you're anemic you cannot continue treating and I read too much procrit is not good either.
I'm on my last week and I have been doing it for the last 3 weeks with good results sx wise (Well I  had other issues, but one of my docs said it was ok since I was RVR at week 2)

I am a geno 2B. Will find out my total bloodwork on Wednesday when I see my hemo doc. I am over 65 so maybe that is why the procrit is not working. I was hoping it would keep it hovering around 25 or higher as it did for the last 7 weeks. I'm also wondering if todays reading could be a mistake. I will have it done again on Wednesday.
