Riba

by Stvski80085, Jun 30, 2006 12:00AM
I am beginning to notice that a couple hours after the reba my fever comes back.  Is that normal?  Just curious because when my fever broke early this morning I was doing pretty good.  Took the riba and it started all over again with the fever and aches.  Just wondering if this will let up with time or does anyone else have this effect too?

I've never had any problem with a fever from the Riba and honestly don't remember hearing of a problem with that either...are you sure it is the Riba giving you the fever because as far as I know and have experienced...I only have gotten a fever and the chills after the Interferon.

The Riba causes a bunch of problems but I don't remember hearing of a fever after you take it.  That is the interferon.

Of course...I don't know quite EVERYTHING LOL.

Well , How long between the breaking of the first fever and the onset of the second fever? Is it possible that the first fever went on break and then returned after breakfast only to be confused as a whole NEW fever? Drug induced fevers are the scum of the earth and they will lie about their backgrounds when given the opportunity .

Point: Relax .Try not to over analyse whats going on with your body. So many weird things happen to you during the course of treatment . My fever has skipped a day and came back. Sometimes no fever at all and sometimes all fever all the time.
ITS A **** SHOOT.

Its all going to be ok:)

Riba is dehydrating so that might contribute. If you're not drinking half your weight in ounces of water, you might try that. Probably best to log your temperature and discuss with your doctor.

40 minutes. After the riba goes down everymorning I can set my clock by it. The feverish feeling and aches, pains and breathing problems. Sunday nights and Mondays are my worst days. I take the Pegasis on Friday night and the Neupogen on Saturday night. The combination of riba with these others makes for a fine day to say the least. There is a guy in here known as Snowave and he did back flips and didn't slow down at all going through treatment. He was at the Winter Olympics (watching) toward the end. Not all get clubed by the gorilla. Hope that is true for you Steve. Have a good 4th. Dale

I was bothered with fever throughout tx. It comes and goes. I never could never figure out if was IFN or Riba. A couple of Tylenol worked for me. Another member on this board has  more fever problems than I ever had. Dale, chime in here for steve.

My fevers seem to take breaks along with the Neulasta. Sounds like fevers skip breakfast and bone pain skip dinner. Interesting. Sometimes I get temps one day, skip a day and then get another. I don't get high fever, I get low temps, like 94 or 95 degrees, yet I am still burning up. Weird.

You are now in our Jumanji game, Steve. You may not know what's going to hit you next. I am still waiting for the day I can calendar in all my sx's.

I don't think the Riba ever caused my temps. Sometimes it is hard to know what drug is doing what. I even asked my doc's and they blame my sx's on each others prescriptions! Go figure.

It's the riba. My wife is so tired of me saying that she won't even listen to Reba McIntyre any longer. riba, riba, riba. That excuse is going to run out on October 20th:) How you been doing? Hot there? Seems we are out of the storm business her for a while. We are settling into the dog days now. Just listening to cotton and beans grunting out of the ground. Be glad to get back to cooler weather and I have never said that in my life. Dale

I had fevers, a lot more in the beginning than now. I told myself it was my immune system going to work on the virus and that helped. Also keep it controlled with whatever med your doc suggested for aches and pains. They told me if it "got too high" to call, I never got over 100. It isn't nearly as frequent now. If it was me, I'd keep up the ibuprophen or tylenol or whichever you were told to use on a regular basis, every 4 or 6 hours whatever they said to do. I find keeping pain/disomfort at bay is better than trying to cocntrol it once it sets in.

I dont know if its the riba or what, everyday I get fevers, they stay for an hour or all day, never know. I have a whopper right now, if only I could sleep!!! It feels like I could sleep away the day, but the minute I lay down and close my eyes,...I start to itch, or my position isnt comfortable, I become very fidgety, only with my sleepin pill at night can I sleep, then I still wake up all night.

That happened to me also for the first week until I got used to the riba. Now the only thing I notice from the riba is that it kinda jacks me up.
Most drugs require that you build up a "blood level" before they are effective--I'm guessing before the blood level is achieved your body must still be getting used to it...

Sometimes I think I may be feeling a bit feverish but as I start to move around it either goes away or I get sidetracked. Either way it has caused little or no discomfort.

I hope your body will adjust to TX. Mine did after the first week or so. But that first week was scary not knowing what to expect. Reading this forum can be pretty scary too because alot of people are having such a hard time of it.
I just did my 4th shot with no adverse effects.
