MY GI postponed by next colonoscopy until after I had completed tx . I am in wk 24 of 48, so it will be next March. I guess every doc has their own views.

One day off of riba will not make any difference. Studies show negative effects on SVR if 7 or more days of riba discontinuation occurs. This info is found in HALT-C trial studies.

Those GI docs really want to work in a clean environment, let me tell you. My fasting was 36 hours. From 6pm on Tue night, until procedure Thu am, only liquids and laxatives. Ask your doc or a nurse in the GI clinic how to proceed concerning taking your dosage.Riba does affect bloodf values, so be sure to ask for your own safety.

Jody, the riba is much better absorbed with a food especially with some fat in it. the drug manufactures insert does say this about taking with food.

Why don't you take you take your second riba dose (with food) earlier in the day before your colonoscopy? It's not important that the two riba doses be twelve hours apart.
