Ringing in Ears - Any Reason BESIDES Anemia

It's back...after six months ringing ringing ding **** Avon lady.

On one side I can barely hear LOL.

Is there any reason aside from anemia to get the ringing? I honestly cannot remember, it's been so long.

I don't think I am "that" low - probably around 10.5 - 11 or so on my hgb but the ringing is driving me nuts.  I don't want to go have a CBC if there is another reason it could be.

Happy friday oh shot friends and not shot night friends!

May it be side free :)

I use the green bottle with the red cap.  It's extra strenght and works great.  Sunday will be my shot # 15 and still no rash or itch as I started itbefore starting tx.

hope this helps,

I was, but once i crawled out the other side, problem solved.

Are these ears new? Could simply be an Englishman having a holiday party in there - I understand that "Ringing in the New'ears" is quite a big thing over there. Maybe a nice banger would help.

I'm having trouble typing here, my arms are stuck down again......

Maybe your ringing ears have something to do with springtime and the all the new pollen in the air. Allergy settling in your ears. Flonase nasal spray works good. Check with your Doc.
Or maybe its BRAINFOG and its not really ringing at all!! LOL

You were sick a few weeks ago and it could have settled in the ear , you may need a water pill to clear up the fluid.  It has happened to me even before tx and that's what I did, in a day or so it was gone.

BTW-- please read your e-mail, I'm still waiting for an answer. :)

NY says "On one side I can barely hear LOL."
-----------------------------------------------

I'd suggest a visit to a good ENT who has a number of diagnostic tools at their disposal. It may be a hearing issue or something as simple as was in the ears, which btw you should never try and remove yourself and don't ask me how I know :)

That said, Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) is very common and could be caused by a whole host of things including the treatment drugs, other diseases, or even stress. But the ENT doctor is a good place to start to rule out the basics.

BTW have you ever tried to answer when it rings?

Fortunately, I was referring to *wax*.

Mine too!  It drives me crazy.  And sometimes I really do answer the phone (really pathetic feeling to say "hello" and hear nothing.  Horror movie-esque.)

Mine, too, was MUCH worse when the anemia really kicked me (though it's never gone away completely).  I'm off procrit for 2 weeks now and mine are ringing more.  I'm worried that the anemia is coming back (more horror movie...)

I have nothing to offer but solidarity.  Gotta go--the phone is ringing...

Maybe it's just the ice cream man in his truck outside your house hoping that you'll buy his entire stock. But, after a while of hearing that buzz in you ears does not make for Good Humor on your part.  Quasimoto had it bad too.

i remember when i first experienced the ringing in the ears on tx...i had just woke up from a daytime nap and heard what i thought was many locusts outside on the trees... so i jumped up outa bed and ran to the window to close it so i could resume my nap... well then it dawned on me that it couldn't be locusts cause it was the dead of winter...duh!

for awhile this ringing freaked me out more than any other side effect had done... now i'm used to it and have adjusted to it...i just hope it goes away when i stop meds!!!

Hi Silverangel,
You know, that is a pretty good point there about spring.  I have been congested from the rains and switches of weather pattern.  How have you been lately.  Did you resolve alot of what was going on with you.  I hope so.

Nygirl:  Sorry your ears are ringing.  Mine rang at my first drop in cbc and it was loud.  Since, my cbc's have stabled the ringing is not so loud; but still there.  I never lost hearing though.  Silverangle could have a point there about spring and pollens.  I have been very irretated with my sinuses lately and congested.  I use Flonase on those days.  Either way, I think I would see a doc.  Don't want any infections settling in that ear; then you will be talking pain, pain, pain.

Hope it gets better.

Which Gold Bond do you use again?  I can't seem to find where you posted it.  I know you've posted it a million times but for the life of me I can't remember.  My arms itch so freakin bad it's driving me crazy.  Right at the inside of my arms right on the bend.....It's warm here too so it makes it even worse...aaaaaah..Help!!

All I can say is please please itch do not spread to my "gentle and sensitive" area...if you know what I mean.

deb in az itching like crazy....

Dale have you had your blood sugar checked recently?  those where the exact symptoms I had when I found they were whacked out.  Serious stuff - if you keep getting dizzy and having your equilibrium off balance - Do mention it to your doc.

Nygirl - sorry I can't offer any suggestions about the ringing.  I do know that ringing can be a side effect of the tx.  Maybe it's just that.  I know it can be annoying.

I am not sure of the exact name of the gold bond; but it is in a green bottle with a red cap.  I use that one at night and I use gold bond ultimate healing skin therapy lotion, in the day for work.  I believe the one nygirl uses is for extra itch.

nygirl will see your post and can give you the exact name on that green bottle with the red cap.

Good Luck,

From ny girl

Is he on treatment if so if he is taking The Ribavirin there you go. It causes a LOT of itching and bumps. Also the Interferon REALLY completely dehydrates us to the point of absurdity. The only thing that really works is using a GOOD lotion such as Gold Bond Extra Strength Triple Action in the green bottle SEVERAL times a day to keep your skin REALLY hydrated.

I've had this problem for the last 26 weeks and before I discovered that that really helped I had ripped so much of my skin that i have scars now.

The fun never ends! But if you get him to drink as much water as he can and loistion up constantly it WILL help him a lot.

I did the same thing; started the lotion at the get go of treatment.  And, so far so good with no itch or dry. Oh! My mom was a Benoit.

I do shot 15/48 tonight.  Are your sides getting better as you go along.  Mine see to be easing up some.  Let me knock on wood here.

Have a Great Weekend.

thank you!!!  I will be off to the store....my skin so far isn't dry thank goodness but this rash... oh my.

I keep my skin hydrated by using baby oil in my bath a few times a week.  I've always done this and it helps a lot but so far this rash is the pits.  I just hope through our summer it won't get worse....you know rash and 115 degree weather don't mix.
