Riva-Rash

by bluefin, Jan 16, 2005 12:00AM
Hi all. I don't post here offen but read all the time. I an on shot 9 of 48 and doing ok so far except for the rash that started on my calfs at week 3 and now is on my arms and chest, lucky not on my face yet, feel like I was attacked by mesquitos or rolled in posion oak. I have been using a 1% hydrocortisone cream, and over the counter anti-itch meds. I called the doc and he prescribed  50mg of Atarax for itch. My wife bought Aveeno lotion, Dreft soap for clothes and Ivory bath soap. I know some get this and some don't but does it go away at some point or just something else I will have to deal with. They said if it gets too bad I would have to stop TX, I said NO WAY.
Texasgal we are on the same week hope your shingles get better.

Yes, we are on the same week and my doc said the same thing.  So far, I have not had the opportunity to speak with my doctor which to me means that he has considered keeping me on the meds.  As far as my shingles go, I was only affected in a very small patch on my upper right thigh and it seems to be well on its way to mending.  I was given Valtrex and a dose of prednisone and it seems to have worked.  I hope your rash is not shingles.  I feel for anyone with it.  It isn't so much painful as it is very ugly and embarrassing as well.  Please do well.  I will think about you.
