SVR???? 1 year post TX test

I just got my 1 year post test results, my doc has typed negative on it BUT........I think it was the labcorp 104639.......
NGI HCV Quantasure (for sure)

Hepatitis C Quantification
        Less than 5 Copies/ml
HCV log10
Unable to calculate result since non-numeric result obtained for component test
HCV Quant
            Less than 3 IU/ml
HCV IU log10
PCR assay performed using Genetic Institute's validated, proprietary methodology.  Results greater than or       equal to 5 Copies/ml of HCV RNA indicate the prescence of virus-specific nucleic acid sequence.

Now, I know that it is less than 5 but if it was zero would it just say negative?  Or is this how this test is?  I have never had this specific test and guess I just need some reassuranse LOL

Thanks for the kind words.  Horses are magnificant animals, kinda like my German Shepherds with their "Look of Eagles".  Both awsome animals.  I am really hoping that this will be "my" summer, the last 2 certainly weren't LOL.  I even found a really nice male to breed my one girly girl, I am ready for some puppy breath!!!!

Can you keep a horse on your property?  It is really expensive to board them but then someone else does most of the work.  If you do get a horse I would bet hubby will too.

If the guys run with your comment from above I can handle it hahahaha, I tended bar in a biker / coal miner bar when I was 20........I have heard it all (I think).

Can't believe I'm late to your party!  My real apologies.

I'm so happy for you and your family. Ain't this the bestest?

Denise, you've unknowingly influenced me and I'm not sure my hubby is happy about it. All I want is a horse these days. You've been honest enough to say how much hard work it is to keep one. And I know you have three, as well as two ponies.

My husband's grandmother lived for her horses and her riding.  She'd be out in the stables at four in the morning, well into 'old age'. My husband remembers that (and his grandfather's frustration). I guess he thinks he'll either be out in the stables, or dragging me into the house to spend time with him.

There's something about horses that's magnetic, isn't there? (Hope the guys don't run away with this comment and behave themselves.)

Denise, thank you for your wonderful contributions, and for making this a safe, informative and special place to be.

All the best,

Port

GSD girl,

A big congrats to you.

But now you have me wondering about my lab report.
All the other tests i had were <10 but this one says <43 so I don't get it.  i do have a new gastro so maybe the test he ordered is different?

it says Hep C Quant <43 HCV RNA not detected and then it says HCVLOG10 unable to calculate result since non-numeric result obtained.

Any thoughts??????

"  Results greater than or       equal to 5 Copies/ml of HCV RNA indicate the prescence of virus-specific nucleic acid sequenc"

I suppose it was this sentence that made you somehow  puzzled made me too had to read it three times before I understood it , why do they have to write in such paranoia terms.

It means if you were not less than 5iuml you would have an indication of virus left.
So stupid to write that on your result

Because you were less than 5iuml so your CURED!!!

VERY HAPPY FOR YOU BIG CONGRATS !!!

Hello,

yesterday I injected my last shot of Peg! But I was left with huge open question. What to do with Reba pills?

I have 10 pills from bottle I use now and 1 full bottle (I don't know  - I never skipped a day to take pills, but end up with almost 30 days leftover.)

I asked my Doc what to do with last week injection and he said: "Do the shot and then take pills or the rest of the week". This conversation took place at my last visit almost a month ago.

Last week, a nurse from his office called me to talk about other issues, and I asked her again about last week of the shot and pills. She told me that she will ask Doc and call me back. She did. But this time the instructions were different: "Do the shot and that's it. No more pills. Nada. Over". It left me with huge question as what i I will jeopardize my tx???

I also talked to my "coach", a young woman who went successfully 3 years ago through similar tx. She told me that she doesn't remember last week, but she was sure she took some pills even than.

So, my question is what to do. Right now, I'm still taking pills, but for how long? Do I go all the way for seven days or do I stop now and it doesn't matter if I'm taking those pills at this point. Less poison for my body, lol.

(I know that pills are useless without injection. But what about the other way around?)

Thanks in advance.
