Severe rash/burn

Hi,

I am in week 17 of treatment and have an extremely bad rash/ burn over most of my body.  The burn part may be from being in the sun (less than 30 minutes) without having long sleeves on (I did have sun block on)  I know that I need to "just get through it" but does anyone have any idea how long the rash can last?  Anything I can do to speed up the healing process?  I drink plenty of water and saturate my body in lotion.

Thanks and good luck to us all!

Is the rash itchy? If so try Gold Bond Anti-Itch Triple Strength Lotion (Green Bottle, Red Cap.) Also...there is a script your doc after looking at you may prescribe..which my PC gave me is called Fluocinonide Cream 0.05%. I guess I don't have to tell you to avoid sitting in the sun without protection. Most importantly...get in touch with your dr., 90% of your body.!..I'd be on the phone 1rst thing tomorrow.
All the best!

Hi Linda, How are you feeling...is your skin any better? I know it 'aint easy and I really relate to feeling isolated. Not nearly as much as I have before finding this site and connecting with others who are going through much of the same...I have rash and some othe minor skin issues that seem to be clearing up...but I won't go in the sun at this point. I've got Irish skin...I'm talkin white! So it's hats and what have you for now. Stay in touch...this is a great place for info. and support.

Thanks Yvonne,

I did look through the threads and saw that several people recommended that product.  My Dr. has seen me, along with a Dermatologist, and both agree it is one of the worse they have seen.  They have prescribed Trimcubolone Acetonide along with the generic form of Allegra.

I have had this cycle before but it cleared up, for the most part, in about 3 weeks.  This has gone on for over a month :(.  I'm curious is anyone has had it this severe, how long it took to get it back under control again.

Thanks again for your response!  It is very much appreciated.  I am glad to have found this forum as I had been feeling very alone.

Does the itching last very long?  I have had it about a week now and getting really irritable.  I have soaked in oatmeal baths, taking benadryl, using anti itch lotions and aveeno lotion, and it doesnt seem to stop it.  It feels like creepy crawly, prickly heat itching.  I see my doctor today and I hope he can help.  I am on week 15 of tx, Pegintron/Rebetol, genotype 1a, have 33 weeks left.  I also find out if I am responding to the tx today.  But, this has got to stop!
