Sex during hep c treatment

I started the treatment last sept, and i have been having sexual intercourse with the same person since last july. What are the chances that my partner might have been infected with the virus during my treatment? also, if i have been cured by the end of the treatment, what are the chances of getting the virus again, due to having sex with the same person?

My biggest fear is that my partner gets infected from me, and my treatment not work because while fighting the virus, I am still having sexual relationship wih my boyfriend. I am so afraid of this happening.

someone please help =[

When you mention transmitting Hep C to your partner during treatment, it makes me wonder if you're using protection?  During treatment, they recommend you use DOUBLE protection so condoms alone are not sufficient.  Ribavirin is extremely teratogenic - which means it's capable of interfering with the development of a baby in the womb and capable of causing birth defects.

Sex during treatment is fine ... doing it without adequate protection is NOT.

Aside from that, transmitting Hep C via sex is only when there is blood exchange and that's caused by rough sex. Stats are somewhere around 5% or less.  If you're using protection, your chances of transmitting Hep C during sex are virtually zero.

Wow you are better off than most of us who would rather have had (interferon)needles put in our eyes than have sex while on treatment.

Chances of getting hepc from sex are just about non-existant if you are in a monogamous relationship.  Your partner is either infected or not and can only find out via the blood test and blood itself  - not sex, blood.
