Sharps containers

Sharps containers

Okay, this is a stupid question, but the only time I think about it is on Friday night.  I got a Sharps container for the used syringes in my Pegysys welcome pack.  Well, it is full - overfull, really. There is a number on the container to order more which I called and got an answering machine so did not leave a number yet.

Question - does everyone order these and if so, do they come in ones or tens or 100s?  And how much?

Next question - what do you do with them?  Are you taking them to your doctor's office, the hospital, or do you have to pay to dispose of them?

I have a plastic bio med container that I get from the pharmacist when I go pick up my meds. I put the used syringes in there and every month when I go pick up more meds I turn them in to the pharmacist and get another container. I don't know what he does with them but it keeps them out of my hair. If you pick up your meds check with your pharmacist, or your doctors office (I know they have some too).

Hope this helps.

Thanks Brooke.  I did ask at the pharmacy at first, and the woman (not a pharmacist) said let me know when I found out because her husband was a diabetic and was going to need to know.  Guess I need to ask the pharmacist himself.

Yup, I've got one full to the gills. I was told that the pharmacy "MUST" take it. This is California - no idea whether it's a state thing or a Fed thing. But, I KNOW I don't want to be standing there arguing the point, so I'm going to pack the whole lot of them into my next Dr appointment and let them handle it. (The same nurse said they have too, too).

Didn't realize this was bothering me till I saw this thread and realized I had dreamed about it last night. Oh, what a mess :(

I drop off my full ones at the doctor. I get empty ones from the same mail-order pharmacy that sends me the drugs. In fact, they usually include an empty with each delivery. I hate the idea of old, full, blood-stained, viral-laden needles anywhere near me. In fact, your post reminds me it's time to drop off another sharps container. If your doctor won't accept it, check with a local hospital. If that's inconvenient, read your local sharps code and dispose as instructed. Get rid of the stuff. You really don't want to have any chance of accidentally pricking yourself with an old needle. For that matter, I hope people are changing their toothbrush and other personal grooming aids every month or so, especially in the beginning of tx.

Well, this seems a good a post as any to go WAY OFF topic.

As most who have experienced it, having a computer crash is stressfull enough. Having it crash when you've been too stupid to back up recently is really stressful. And having it all happen in the middle of Peg/Riba treatment is like to-the-moon stressful.

Fast-forwarding ahead, my new notebook computer arrived today and after cursing out two tech support supervisors somewhere in India, I think I kinda have it running.

Anyway, cuttting to the chase -- does anyone know who to import Mozilla/Firefox bookmarks (which I saved) into the new Mozilla/Firefox browser. Internet Explorer won't accept them and for some reason Mozilla won't either. Please don't respond in a Hindi accent. Thank you very much.

Bummer Dude! I Didn't know how to type with a Hindi accent, so you're saved from that lunacy from me ;)

Check out <a href="http://mozilla.gunnars.net/firefox_bookmarks_tutorial.html#Bookmark_Manager>this page</a>. I dunno what the new version of Firefox is, but the instructions looked good for my version.

In short:

Bookmarks>Bookmark Manager

Then:
File>Import
