Shot 23

Last night number 23.  For the first time I am seeing the light at the end. I have made plans. I picked out a few events I want to do and it feels good!   Five shots to go, just hope CBC does not change in any way. Hgb 9.2, wbc1.2, nuetrofils .5.   The doctor said i am on the edge and will watch it weekly. I am getting it checked every seven days but at this point I can.t imagine they would want to add a helper drug..  Sure hope I can ride this one out.  The only change that took place in tx was RIBA reduction from 1000 to 800 about a month ago.      Yeppie.   UND since week four, will get 24 week VL test done March 5th.    No question, just wanted to give some hope.

It would be great to see you get to EOT without any rescue drugs, but if you need them for a few weeks, no biggie.  That finish line is quickly approaching, so exciting.  I'm right behind you, but too soon to start that final sprint yet, lol.

I'm trying not to think too much until after I'm over the finish line, so the following (see link) doesn't happen :-)

I have never heard of testing any ILB 28 gene related to hep C. Is this something everybody should get tested for before tx?
I live in Norway and my doctor and nurse both says that they don't do any VL tests before week 12 (week 8 with the added Vic). They did take a VL before tx and it was 100 000. But they only test for pos or neg PCR on week 4 and 8. My blood tests for week 8 will be now on Friday and I'm really ancious and excited to get those results that will probably tell if I will have to do 28 or 48 weeks. Or if I'm responding at all (at week 12).
So for now I'm living with a lot of unanswered questions about my progress and tx prosess - and I must say it's hard for the mind. But I really need, and love to read posts like yours. It gives a lot of hope. Thank you - and all the best on your way to SVR forever!!

Your history is a lot like mine.  I am on 3TX with Vic and just took shot 23.  I went from 1.06M at start of treatment, 814 at week 4 and UND at week 8 meaning I am on a 28 week treatment plan.  My hmg dropped to 9.2 and was continuing to drop (along with WBC) at week 19 at which point I could do very little physically.  My doctor added Procrit and did not reduce the Riba.  Hmg has only slightly improved to 9.7 after 3 weeks though I do feel a little better.  Best of luck and I want to celebrate in about 5 weeks.  Would just like to be able taste some food again.

You are toooo funny!! My husband and I sat and watched that utube and laughed!    I got the message.....

I still chuckle to myself when you changed your profile pic from a tricycle instead of a bicycle. Now that was funny. Well said.

I was UND before starting Vic. I was one of the ones that the doctor at the beginning wanted me to consider SOC. she felt my chances were very good to clear because I tested good on the ILB 28 gene. I believe she was trying to avoid the SE of another drug.  I just could not see myself tx for a year so that was my decision to do the Vic.  Hang in there, I bet you next one will be good.   What has been your log drop?

So nice to hear! Happy for you and it brings hope to me to hear your story.
Did you get UND at week 4 before starting with Vic or after 4 weeks on Vic? Just curious. I took my 8th shot yesterday and was still positive on the PCR test at week 4 (before starting with Vic).
