Shot 7 and Rhumatoid arthritis

Shot 7 and Rhumatoid arthritis

I woke up this morning in excrutiating pain throughout my body, and I think it may be my Rhumatoid Arthritis acting up, which  seldomly does that b3ecause I get a Cortizone shot 5 times a year. But I took my 7th shot of Peg-intron yesterday. Does anyone think it may be related? What do people do for the aches and pains usually? I took 2 extra strength Tylenol and they didn't touch it.

I have the aches and pain but mine is from the procrit, which is known to cause bone pain.  Are you on procrit?
I've been on the procrit since week 2 so who know's maybe it's from the meds and the procrit.
I'm sure others will come on soon.  The week ends are slow here because most take their shots and aren't feeling so well.
Hope you feel better and have a good holiday.

I have heard that tx can make autoimmune diseases flare up, ie RA.
I have had bone pain too, in my right hip and femur. worse for rest, hot packs dont ease the pain. Its a deep cold pain.  I told the doc and she said bone ache is usually generalised, not localised like that and if it dont get better I will need to see a rheumatologist (it has gone again).
Has anyone else had localised bone pain like that?

the right hip pain seems to be common among those treating. I had it, tnguy had it and I have heard a few talking about a pain in the right hip. Unless that provider went through treatment, she can't make too  many general statements as to what pains we should be feeling! I think mine was due to herniated discs, but others complained of similar pain without disc involvenment, so I now wonder what truly caused it?

Thanks for your response
What is it with the right hip pain then!  I was imagining that it was the bone marrow going nuts. All those blood cells been killed off and new ones been made. But then again, i have a vivid imagination.

Before treament(just did shot 38), I had normal occasional aches and  pains from a physical lifetstyle of construction work and exercise. Since starting treatment(tx) I go through most of the day consciously aware of consistently aching joints and muscles. Since probably a few weeks into tx I moan with the aches getting out of bed around 6am, kneeling to pray, and going down the stairs. By 10am they are usually subdued enough to allow me to go to work construction or in the yard, and that actually seems to help til evening when the aches kick up again. Some days though I take 1 or 2 reg strength tylenol during work. Throughout the day though whether kneeling, climbing,or bending I notice stiffness I didn't have before tx. Getting on the ground for low work and back up requires holding on to something, which I didn't have to do before.
It does concern me because both my mother and her mother, very active women, were both living in wheelchairs by their
mid 60's, their bodies wrecked with arthritis. Both had fingers and toes that curled and disfigured, though both still played the piano, and the litany of meds they took for that disease wore very heavy on them physically. Both passed at the age of 74, yet both had healthy siblings without that ailment living into their late 80s.
I wonder sometimes if these meds, maybe in combo with being in my 50s are kicking off any hereitary arthritis in me. As a slow responder to the meds it may weigh in my decisions down the line. Course somedays I just say, Don, that's the meds slugging in out with this evil virus. Let em fight, get through today, if the virus goes, I may be in better shape to fight arthritis if it chooses me. Picturing these 2 diminutive frail gentle women and the beautiful smiles even arthritis couldn't bend or wipe away, has helped me up to my feet and down on my knees to pray more than a few days.
Be Well,
Don

I have been on Neupogin for several months now and I noticed severe pain in my left hip, but I assumed it was sciatic(?) pain from my 3 bad disks...
