I have hep c type 1 and failed rebamifin and pegathis treatment should I wait or try a study. I have
stage 4 chriois?

No you should not wait having cirrhosis. I have heard of taking a maint dose of interferon or Infergen to give the liver a break if treatment fails. Perhaps you could do this until the new meds come out. Make an appointment with a liver specialist (Hepatologist).

Here's a link to a clinical trial of a new protease inhibitor (the same kind of drug that Telaprevir--  vx950 -- is) for Geno 1's who have previously failed treatment. (My husband is on a trial of the same drug for treatment-naive.) It's gotten very good preliminary results.

I don't know where you live, but you can take a look at the study locations and see if there's one near you.

That same web site also allows you to search for other trials in your area, if you can't afford to wait and want to try some of the new drugs.
