Side Effects

Recently I went to a ENT for a Fungal Infection in my throat. He gave me Fluroconozole pills to take Systemicly once a day. I have been on it for 11 days now and even though it is better than it was I still have trouble swallowing at times. I can't see the ENT again until Thursday. My question is that I am now experienceing a throbbing that is very uncomfortable in my throat area and it radiates to the top of my chest. Advil helps a little bit sometimes. Has anyone experienced this also. Everytime I get a new Side Effect I get worried because I have to white knuckle it until some pain medication kicks in or I get to see the Doctor.

It could be signs you're developing an allergic reaction to the TX.  I am experiencing that now at my 43rd week.  My throat feels hoarse and it's difficult to swallow and my chest is heavy...sometimes hard to breathe.  I use an inhaler prescribed by immunologist.  My throat and chest tightness does come with hives and itching.  I am taking Xyzal and Benadryl for that.  I would highly recommend you find yourself an immunologist.  Mine is great.  I was like you trying to figure out what was causing what and if I was the only one...it is happening to all of us.  You just need to continue doing what you're doing, keep asking us veterans questions and we will help you try to shed some light for you.  Good luck!

I forgot what week you're on, but there are all kinds of sx with treatment and while I haven't had throat problems, i have had mouth issues and have read many posts over the past year from folk who have had all kinds of extra-hepatic symptoms.

It stinks.

If the discomfort is that difficult, then i would see a Dr., any Dr., tomorrow, even if it's a local immedicenter.

Otherwise, i would google hepatitis C and throat problems and see what you come up with.  i would post a link if I had one but throat stuff, aside from horrible post nasal drip, hasn't been one of my SX.

these meds just affect everyone differently.

Good luck,

wyn

If thendsicomfort is that acute and you can't get to the Dr. until Thursday, I would try to get into the PCP tomorrow or Wednesday.thuyou feel and nearly every other problem you can think of.
