Side effect of Endep (antidepressant)

One year ago I was put on Endep (antidepressant) for three months then i stopped it as I started to experience the following side effects: Shaking right before a fall asleep, muscle twitching. These side effects have been with me for almost a year and they do not seem to go away.

Hi Jimmy.  If you have muscle twitching going on and this started after you were on Elavil, or in your case after you stopped it after 3 months, and it's been going on for a year, it could be something called tardive dyskinesia, which is condition that can sometimes occur with the use of some psych drugs.  It could be a number of things (serious or not serious), but since you have this history with Elavil and connect the two, you need to be seen by the doctor who prescribed the Elavil, or - if it was a regular doc who prescribed it - get seen by the the regular doc AND a psychiatrist.  You need to start getting some things ruled out.  Best of luck.

I was on Endep for a couple of years, and I can tell you they planted me in another world, I have blank areas of my life whilst on them.  I was lethargic, muscle twitching, out of this world thinking, they helped me sleep (big time), they are also used as a pain reliever for people with osteoarthritis as well.  I will never take them again, thats how bad they were.
But in saying that, they are good for people that are on the verge of a break down and cant cope with life anymore and are at the bottom of the pit. They do their job in that respect.
But for someone that is mildly depressed, they are a no no.
My opinion anyway...lol.
