Snoring and Rashy post tx? And other questions...

by raheem, Nov 05, 2004 12:00AM
I'm 6 months post tx.  All clear.  My question is simply do any of you other folks who have had tx or are going through tx snore more than ever now? I do. My girlfriend even goes to the other bedroom and even the cats leave! The rash thing is basically on my biceps, shoulders and chest.  I am lit up like a Christmas tree when I come out of the hot shower.  I thought it would disappear after tx but it persists.  Just wondering.  Thanks.

Yeah my wife snores. Since she stopped smoking acouple of years ago it's all but ceased. She says i snor if itake any sedatives and i believe that it can be a sign that yuo are not in a deep sleep.
As for the rash stuff i am not "rashy" but itchy and it reminds me of what i was told was the result of excess bilirubin prior to tx.
Just one other thing what is the purpose of yawning. I was once told that it was to do withlack of oxygen, but have since been told taht this is bull. Any clues? Other than it's a boring question.

I can't help you regards the rash but if you've started very heavy snoring you may want to consider that you may have sleep apnea.

Another sign of posible sleep apnea may be if you feel you're sleeping hard but are fatigued throughout the day. Sleep apnea can be potentially dangerous and if anything does affect the quality of life as you're never well rested.

I didn't want to bring up another issue to worry about but  heavy snoring does warrant investigation as far as the possibility of apnea.

Snoring....LOL Yes!!  The past couple of months of my tx,,,,Every night when I go to bed,,,,The minute I lay down,,,I'm totally stopped up.  Has anybody else had this,,,I did start running a humidifier in my room and that has helped my skin from drying as much and have used a saline spray but that is good for a few minutes and then its back....
