I hear you. I have been keeping a journal since my diagnosis. It can be amazingly satisfying to write down your frustrations. I don't mean on-line, but personal. Then you come back later and read the rant & rave parts and realize how much better you feel now. Try it..
Hang in there Lynno. I was at week 37 last week too and it was my WORST week. I had been doing pretty good but that treatment weekend was by far the worst. I rode it out and things are getting better.
This darn treatment stuff is like riding a rollercoaster and, when we're in the midst of a screamer, it seems as if it will never end -- but it does.
I hope you are feeling better!!
When I was txing I was so worn out depleted of my mind and body. However you must go with your spirit. Im going thru anxiety now not depression. Its TOTALLY normal to feel this way on tx. Totally.
If you need to write, keep on doing it, if you need to walk, do it. If you need to cry cry!
Whatever gets you thru. This is just a temporary stop in life. The road will start moving again -remember you are doing this to help yourself....
The road ALWAYS changes..and I promise things will get better.
Just try to go with the flow even if the flow is not good.

What you are going through is very normal. I was very down in the dumps a couple weekends ago, and thought about stopping treatment. I made myself hang on because I still hadn't gotten my week 12 bloods back yet, and didn't want to cut off my nose to spite my face, so to speak. (Why quit if it's working?) I had a panic attack driving to work one day and it took a couple days to get some medication. My fatigue has also gotten much worse so I'm not a very happy camper. The doctor put me on Xanax, which has helped with more than one issue. I was fully expecting anti-depressants, but so far none of them yet. You'll find many of us are on Xanax or some type of anti-depressant. It doesn't make you a wack job and it IS from the medication (the Interferon was the guilty party in my panic attack, from what I was told), and it is also temporary. Many people go through depressive episodes in their lives that are not on treatment, and that number is probably bigger than you think. Good luck and keep talking about it...you are not alone. Anne
Hi, you are in a familiar boat. Many, many of us have been there. Sometimes it was better for me to post on here than talking with family. People on here understand better. & don't feel bad if you don't get a lot of responses due to the holiday weekend.
Don't worry about your computer skills, sometimes I wonder about mine LOL and it has been years since my first one.
Denise
The real funny thing is the people really do talk that way..."lord thundering jesus, bye"
Tell your Hepatologist and you should have a help# to call. They aren't going to lock you up! You will be given a Psychiatrist to see to confirm your depression and a Rx-whether you take the meds is up to you-but the Psyche dr will also steer you to a Psychologist familiar to TX patients. Mine did at least and it/he has gotten me thru some rough times during Tx and still nearly 4 years later. I had no luck with anti-depressives-the latest is/was Prestiq. Have a drawer full of several full bottles of different kinds-dropped the Prestiq into it yesterday. I only take Xanax-oh, I tossed the Lyrica also. 4 years since treatment in August. Good luck, Frank
sounds ruff, right now for you . hope you get some rest ,and real help from the ad . my weeping ,on and off ,has gotten worse. your deep into tx ,It must s*ck ,but hang in there !! we are counting on you ! bob
You are so good at lifting spirits! That joke made me laugh so hard! I am up at 4 am, feeling kinda down because at week 39 my Hgb & Hct still in 8 and 24; just doubled Procrit this week so hoping for a better week soon. Thanks for the laugh.
Hi Lynne,
You'd never know from here that you're not a pro at this :); your comments look fine to me. Make sure that you mention this to your doctor; we see people on these meds get depressed often. They prevent certain chemicals from getting to our brain properly, so don't think you're going nuts or anything... it's the interferon acting on your emotions, probably.
Do you have family or friends that you can call and talk to if things get out of hand this weekend? If not, keep posting on here, and hopefully people in the same boat will chime in and yak with you. I'll try to check back with you a little later.
Take care, and have a nice evening,
Bill
I'm taking 1/2 mg. of risperidone a day - I'm new to the computer and still very confused. It takes me a long time to figure things out. This is my first computer. I'm never sure if I'm even sending messages properly. I'll keep trying.
Thanks - Lynne
Thanks a bunch, you made me cry, I was laughing so hard. Glad to hear I'm not the only one. Taking 1/2 Risperdone/day. I'll talk to the Doc. when I see him, maybe my dosage needs to be adjusted. I'm on Interferon and Pegasys.
Thanks again, if you don't mind I'll print your joke!
Lynne
Way down in the out ports of Newfoundland , Murph's old lady had been pregnant for some time and now the time had come.
He brought her to the doctor and the doctor began to deliver the baby.
She had a little boy, and the doctor looked over at Murphy and said 'Hey, Murph! You just had you a son!
'Ain't dat grand!!' Murph got excited by this, but just then the doctor spoke up and said, 'Hold on! We ain't finished yet!'
The doctor then delivered a little girl. He said, 'Hey, Murph! You got you a daughter!!!! She is a pretty lil ting, too.
Murph got kind of puzzled by this and then the doctor said, 'Hold on, we ain't got done yet!'
The doctor then delivered another boy and said, 'Murph, you just had yourself another boy!'
Murph said to the doctor, 'Doc, what caused all of dem babies?'
The doctor said, 'You never know Murph, it was probably something that happened during conception.'
Murph said, 'Ah yeah, during conception.'
When Murph and his wife went home with their three children, he sat down with his wife and said, 'Mama, you remember dat night that we ran out of Vaseline and we had to use dat dere 3-in-1 Oil.'
She said, 'Yeah, I remember dat night..
Murph said, 'I'll tell you, bye, it's a fookin' good ting we didn't use dat WD-40!!'
Join the club...im not a happy camper right now either...on on week 30 of triple therapy and if i cracked a smile my face would fall off.
Hey, Lyyno--
I'm glad to hear it helps to talk about it. Are you currently taking an antidepressant?
