Social Security Disability examination

I have been scheduled for an evaluation by Social Security.  It appears this is with a shrink.  What can I expect?  Anyone been through this?

hey it's been about 10 years but i had the soc sec psych.  evaluation.  it was more like an intelligence test i thought. the dr.  didn't care about all my med's or "problems"  don't worry it'll be find.  good luck

Go to www.hcvadvocate.org. There is a decidicated section,"keeping your social security checks coming," Its written by a disabliity lawyer who used to work for disability evaluation dept. The article is very informative and tells you pretty much what you can expecct at the evaluation. If nothing regarding has changed you are pretty sure to keep getting your disability benefit.coming. if your not back to workkor anything,I wouldn't worry about. being diqqualified. S.S. isnt looking for a reason to cut you off They just want to be sure that your still unable to work. Good atricle, check it out.. .

I had a severe accident many years ago and had to go through the whole thing.

The tests I had were just like said above - intelligence tests.  Like they give you a list of 20 things and then tell you to remember it for aminute then say it backwards.....things like that.  And what is the capital of Okalahoma? How many people are there in the world?  Basic stuff to see not only what you know but how your cognitive skills are working.  Puzzles...stories you look at the pictures then put them into what order you think they go.........basic shrink type stuff.

But nothing to really worry about.

odd to send you to a shrink cause of hepc though it would seem to me!
