Sore Nose

Hi All, I guess having anemia just isn't enough now I have a sore nose. I wake up congested and the inside of my nose is so sore it hurts to just touch it. Anyone have any remedies? Also, I wish everyone a Happy sx free Thanksgiving.

I have had a sore nose and the congestion. On the outside I put some neosporin to keep it moist and the inside that gets so dry, I put a little too. I also used some kiehls on the inside (lip balm) It did seem to help. All these annoying things that happen on tx do add up. One by one, we have to knock them down and go on. Keep on trooping, girl, you will be feeling that procrit soon....

i also used that nasal spray (just saline water) soothes, keeps the inside a little moist.  
btw girl, have a wonderfully happy and relaxing thanksgiving... try your hardest to enjoy, and find something to be thankful for..chelle

$10 vaporisor at Wal-Mart. Saline nasel spray. Hot shower or bath. Vaseline around nostrels.

My nose and mouth both hurt. Drink water!

When I was doing tx, I also got a terribly irritated nasal lining.  I also am getting the same thing now, even at the maint. dose of 90ug Pegasys, Q7D...

The absolute best thing I found to use on the inside of my nose (and, incidentally, sometimes on my elbows, which get dried and cracked) is that industrial strength lanolin that nursing mothers use on their nipples.

I know, I know, it sounds bizarre, but I swear it works *really* well!

Oh MAN!!! I have had this since the end of AUG>!!! I have tried EVERYTHING! The only thing that helps A LITTLE is called AYR. It is a saline GEL that comes in a small white tube at the pharmacy.
I was told NOT to put anything w/petrolium jelly or the like on it because it can cause pneumonia. (droplets of it can get ingested and REALLY cause a mess for you) google that and you'll be shocked at what can happen from petrolium jelly in the nose/getting in the lungs.
Gee. This nose thing is soooo painful sometimes, and if it's not painfull, and having one of the "better days" where it looks like its gonna go away, its just irritating as all get out. GOOD LUCK W/IT! If you find something that clears it up etc. LET ME KNOW!!! Call out to me if needed. THIS STINKS!

I had the painful sore nose for a year also.  It feels like there are all these sores or cuts inside my nose.  My father was living in the house and came down with a fungal nasal infection.
II finally cleaned it out with neil med bottle with high pressure pumps.  But I came down sick with tonsil infection and have had all this blood in the mucus coming out?  I'm not sure if the solution kills the germs though and I should try something else.
