I didn't get the mouth sores but i got rash and faintness within the first week of TX. (along with a slew of other symptoms).

"Hepatitis C patients are easily prone to mouth ulcers and thrush. Thrush (candidiasis) is an overgrowth of a yeast (fungus) called "candida." In the mouth, thrush appears to be creamy white patches or small red spots on the tongue, roof of the mouth (also called the hard palate), gums or throat. Crusting on the corners of the mouth is also one of the symptoms of thrush."

i can imagine ANY sx happening anytime on this Tx though
And you can develop SX at any time during treatment. I had hoped that since I'm in the final 17 weeks that the SX would level off but Noooooooooo.
I still think that the folk who don't have many problems just don't post that much but I would have lost my friggin mind if i hadn't heard from others going through the same stuff at the same time coz i would have thought i was imagining it all.
After all, most of us don't have too many non-heppers to discuss this stuff with. Oh, people TRY, but after just a few seconds of TX talk they get that glazed this-is-entirely-too-much-information expression on their face.
If you're speaking to them via telephone, you get that several second silence at the end of your tirade about what you're going through and you realize the person on the other end of the line wasn't even listening.
Oh well . . . at least there's no imminent snowfall in the immediate future.

People at work ask how my husband is doing and when I start to discuss the treatment, etc, their eyes glaze over and sometimes they just say "uh sounds rough" LOL I believe they want to care but they just can't handle the reality of it all.
I'm really glad I have you all as Greg has things going on with his body this week that we would have been freaking out about. Like the sores in the mouth, muscles hurting, extreem fatigue, eyeballs hurthing like crazy and complete loss of appetite. Humm, sounds bad but the hardest part is knowing that the symptoms are lessening and it's shot time on Friday... :) only 47 weeks to go...
He will be OK. The first month is confusing and new and you don't know what to expect and unless you read a lot of scientific papers you're not sure if you're 'doing' the TX right.
There is no right way except to make sure you get all the meds on schedule as much as possible. that is critical to success.
If you want me to post a few helpful links I'll do it tomorrow.
wyntre.
The thing I'm most worried about is getting bad headaches because they totally put me out of commition. Anyone having problems with that and if so, what are you taking. I have to keep working so can't afford to be down. Thanks for being there.
