Stages of liver disease..what are they?

What are the stages of liver disease?  If someone is a stage 3 what does that mean as far as mortality?  What or how many stages of liver disease are there?

there are 4 stages of fibrosis. stage 3 is not that bad and far from mortality! it is getting close to 4 which is cirrhosis. then i believe there is stages of cirrhosis. some others will answer with more info.

Stage 1- Inflammation
State  2- Fibrosis
Stage 3- More Fibrosis
Stage 4- Cirhossis

once you reach cirhossis I believe there are stages for cirhossis.

Stage 4 A: compensated   B: some decompensation/ complications beginning to appear. C: End Stage / severe cirhosis.

It means roughly your 3/4 of the way to cirhossis.  Nobody can tell you about mortality - only God know the answer to that one.

If your liver damage is stage 1 how fast can it go to stage 4?

No one could answer that unfortunately.
Its very slow moving as per my physician but no one knows. Everyone progresses differently.
One person could take 25 years to go from 1 to 4.
Someone else could progress rapidly..........
