what are the final stages of hepc? My boyfriend was diagnosed with hepc, cirrohis, liver lesions and low platelets (they weren't able to increase them in the hospital). The local hospital here said they couldn't do a liver biopsy because it was to dangerous and they weren't sure about him going to another hospital because he has no medical insurance and can't get any. He is yellow, his legs swell up and cramp so bad that his toes get stuck, his stomach is now getting big and hard as a rock, he doesn't sleep well, very irritable, forgets things, and constantly argues with me. I am currently under going treatment. What and where can I go to get him help, does anyone know of any studies are anything?

The last thing you need right now is the local hospital. You need a major teaching hospital.
Your boyfriend needs to be evaluated for a liver transplant as according to your description he is probably already in the final stages.
I cannot advise on finance as I am not in USA and don't know the system.

I don't know where you are but go to the American Liver Foundation site and they list by states the Teaching hospitals doing transplants and studies.  To echo DOT402 it does sound end stage.  If you are in Texas I'd recommend Baylor or UofT-  Hermann is difficult.
If he is on Medicare-strike that I just re-read ;no Insurance.  Go to nearest county Hospital-social services should be able to hook him up with a teaching hospital but you have to stay on them.  He no doubt has ascites and his forgetfulness could be caused from ammonia build up-irritability also-mental encephalapathy-a waking coma is common-Lactulose saved my bacon-it comes only with a Rx.  Good luck-Get help now!
