Started Harvoni 12 Week Today

Hello all. This is my first time here. I've been living with Hep C for about 10 years. I am Genotype 1. F4.  I just took my first tablet of Harvoni this morning. I am on the 12 week journey. I wanted to ask if anyone knows if the tenderness of the skin where your liver is will go away over time if treatment is successful? I'm sure I'll have more questions as time passes. Thank you for all that answer me.

I'm with hepcandme on this one. You'd had to have HCV for approx 30 years or more to be F4. Even as a small female it took me over 30 years to get F4. It would mean you got the virus when you were a kid. Perhaps there is some missing info here or a mix up on the Liver damage stage. Are you sure you are F4? Do you drink alcohol regularly? HCV lives in the liver and tricks the immune system to not attack it.

Hello Snuff !! and welcome .
wish you all the very best in your treatment and pray that you are SVR at the earliest .
Harvoni is a great drug and has a very high cure rate . .

I did have one small question , F4 In 10 years ... This seems to be a very fast ... are u sure you have  had Hcv only for 10 years or were you detected 10 years ago !!

Also please know that Alcohol plays a very big part in Fibrossis Progression , so please stay away from it . specially when on tx .

Wishing you well and a speedy recovery .
Warm regards ...

Welcome Snuff!

The tenderness you refer to is from your cirrhosis - not the Hep C, per se

Once the virus is gone, your liver disease will likely improve as well

Good luck in your treatment. Are you treating with just Harvoni or with Ribavirin as well?
