Starting Sofosbuvir GS 5885

Hi, I tried Teleprevir last year and failed. The Institute called me last week to see if I wanted to be in this new study for Sofosbuvir GS 5885. I have not been able to get much info on the net except from the Drug Co.
They have one slot open and I need to be there tomorrow for my bloodwork and EKG. Is there anyone on Med Help that is in this trial or anyone with any info that would help me make this decision. I was so dis-hearted when I could not stay in the Teleprevir study. It is Phase 3, either 12 or 24 weeks and either with or w/o Riba.  It starts next week. Thanks for any info. Reen

RE your June 19th and 20th posts, are you all ION-2 people?

If so, to which cohort were you assigned? Which week of treatment did you achieve UND?

And KCthree: for which week of treatment was your most recent viral load report?

Thanx, all.

Congratulations to all on the treatment and those off the treatment.  Looks like the Beatles song, It is getting Better All the Time..I went for my morning walk and was listening to that song and felt like this describes the treatment and then finally being done too.  I am only on week 9, but getting there eventually!  Keep reporting on how we all are doing.  I love to read the stories.  :)

Thank you Renee. I have had a few days ( after stopping meds)  that I felt very off mentally. Just off. Can not put my finger on it. I have noticed that food at times, doesn't taste right. My fatigue seems to be fading fast, that's  a big plus!!! I have noticed I am sleeping less. Physically  I do feel fine. I am really hoping my memory comes back. That is the one thing I noticed the most, was my memory loss. Hoping for that for sure. If I had any improvement in my vision that would be a bonus. These were all things that seemed to me to be the most affected by the treatment. At 58 years young,  I am sure some of this is a natural aging process!!!!
Good luck on your week 12!!!!! I love your seize the moment:) I have heard ( no science just a Dr.opinion) that if you make it past the first 4 weeks and remain Und, your chances for total clearing and total SVR are greatly improved. So the best of luck for you!!!!!!

I can tell you gerard you start to feel better and better. I am going in for my 12wks. off the meds July 16th, so I'm almost there. A couple of the weeks off the meds I felt worse than on them but then I started to improve. No more fatigue, headaches, eyes a lot better (still use drops) and rash on elbows gone. I have more energy too. So it's all good so far. My biggest hope is that my enzymes are lower and I am still und of course. But I am not going to worry about it, I am seizing the moment :-)))
