Starting Sofosbuvir GS 5885

Hi, I tried Teleprevir last year and failed. The Institute called me last week to see if I wanted to be in this new study for Sofosbuvir GS 5885. I have not been able to get much info on the net except from the Drug Co.
They have one slot open and I need to be there tomorrow for my bloodwork and EKG. Is there anyone on Med Help that is in this trial or anyone with any info that would help me make this decision. I was so dis-hearted when I could not stay in the Teleprevir study. It is Phase 3, either 12 or 24 weeks and either with or w/o Riba.  It starts next week. Thanks for any info. Reen

I had my best work out today since beginning the trial! Ran up 10 flights of stairs without stopping and finished the 30 floors in shorter intervals. Worked out hard for an hour.

I think i am adjusting to my reduced hemoglobin and my body is beginning to compensate with more red blood cell production.

Re set at 60! Woo hoooo!

I have been keeping a low profile..... it isn't because I am not well;
more like the opposite.  I have been working nearly every day and for very long hours.

We have had a record wet spring in the midwest where I live.... the wettest in history, and so for a while I really could not work.

It has finally started drying out and I have really had to work a LOT.  I am blessed because in spite of being on treatment.... I am finding  myself more able to work now than before I started this TX.  My health is better, endurance is better, mental clarity is better.

My point is...... the way that you want to feel after you treat..... improved..... but that you must wait for weeks or months after TX.....

I feel as though I am experiencing this while on TX, even in spite of still being on 1200mg of riba each day.

OK, on with my 6 week labs.

My treatment results are pretty simple to understand....
I started w/ about 3 million viral load....and in the first week was below quantification, same deal w/ week 2.
Week 4 and 6 have been undetectable.  Simple.
I expect continued results of UND.
I start week 9 this morning; just ate my morning dose.

My alt/ast are mid teens still.

My hemoglobin has improved....almost inexplicably
It was 17 at my screening, a 16 at baseline, 14.8  week 1, 12.5 week 2, 12.8 week 4, and 13.2 week 6.

So I am doing well.

I meant to get this entered.....
But I have truly been working till dark many days and working weekends.

I am very impressed with this treatment.

Hi all,
this post only to tell you that I've got my week 4 results ... and I was UND (I think I became UND between week 2 and week 3).
GT 1b - baseline viral load > 10.000.000

Your best bet is to ask your hepatologist about any upcoming trials in which you could participate, if you have a hepatologist that you are seeing.

There is a website "clinical trials.gov" from which you can glean information about trials' status. That site is kept reasonably current. Once you have selected a study through its search engine, it shows study locations, summarizes candidates' inclusion and exclusion factors, recruitment status, etc.
