Starting Tx next week

MD said my labs are great, beginning RediPen PegIntron alfa-2b and Riba-4 wk lead in, then Victrellis 12 weeks, remaining 8 weeks SOC. I'm going to have a nurse come to thehouse as was offered to teach me and husband how to do injections and  timing for oral meds. Scared about sx since I have to teach to maintain ins. coverage. As long as I'm upright and breathing I'm gonna do this! You guys are informative/ helpful. Any suggestions? TIA.

Thanks for the encouragement here; I had to stop reading another forum b/c it was very frightening and negative about treatment. I realize that I am very well as per my hep MD and he said I could wait but why would  I want to? I want to be well and looking forward to becoming a very old lady. I'm already really trying to drink 64 oz of water a day (I should drink 70oz as best practice). Crossroadsec-I'm very happy for your UND- may a lifetime of health be yours!

I just left from school trying to set up classroom. I'm gonna fake it til I make it. One good thing about greeting students (today was schedule pick up) is that they always need you to get outside yourself to help them. I was so nauseated today. Weak as a kitten. But got good news about viral load - undetected! This forum will become a lifeline for info and support. They've seen it all, or been through it. I honestly couldn't have made it w/o their advice. You're right, "as long as I'm upright and breathing..." you CAN do it. Welcome. Karen :)

There are many of us on the forum that were able to continue working through treatment.  I have four weeks to go and still making it everyday.  I may have slowed down a little and I definitely become a slug once I am home but I'm still paying bills, etc.  I hope the same for you - rest when you can, never commit to go somewhere unless you can leave on your own and don't make plans too far ahead - we all have good days and not quite as good days.  Lots of luck to you.

My Rebetol(ribavirin) are 200mg capsules. Not sure what you were prescribed. I take the Rebetol twice a day. I'm also on PegIntron Alfa2b, had hoped for the RediPens but they were not available, so I'm on the "mix & stick". I was told 4 weeks lead-in, then 24 weeks of triple with Victrelis. I may have misunderstood, but that's what I'm prepared for as of now. Day 11 for me, Wishing you all the best! Take care, Mike

What is 400 mg of ribavirin 100mg 4x a day? or 400mg pill each? Confused.
