I generally have used the standard ED meds during and after tx, and that works just fine...sometimes too fine! Long, and maximum performance, but with the typical side effects. I just want my good old normal functioning to return. I am quite certain that a variety of hormones, and other chemicals are knocked for a loop by therapy, and may remain problematic for long periods of time after tx...or even (God forbid...) become permanent.
This has not been studied very much by the medical or research community at this point...and I would also imagine that length of time on tx, and dosing levels all play a part in how much dysfunction is created, and how long and how severe it might be.
Oddest thing of ALL, is that for about a month after ending my successful tx, I had tremendous erectile function and sensitivity...very naturally...then after four weeks all my post tx symptoms hit in full force, including the good old ED.
So, during tx it was bad, and then from one month after ending and over the past three years, it has been pretty bad.
I really wonder why that one month window of feeling great (in almost every way!) after tx ended. Almost like for awhile I was really CURED. Maybe for awhile, even the residual virus after SVR is pretty disabled or inactive, and there is a feeling of having NO viral illness or immune system problems. Then in a month or so, the immune struggle begins again, even though one is technically 'SVR'.
Who knows?
How much of your old sexual function has returned, at this point? And, for how long has it 'been back'???
Hopefully you are out of the woods, and now looking to get into the bushes, where you belong!
Good Luck with your rediscovered friend.

The night thing is used when a fellow tells the dock he has a problem. He then sleeps monitored at the hospital a night or two. If he rises durring his sleep, the Doc would recomend some kind of therapy.
This was back in 1990. Today could be a different story. He would likley get get a 6-pack of blue pills for starters.
It has been back in full for 2 weeks now. It came back gradually over the last two months. So for five months after TX it was bad.
OK, this is pretty personal but it is HVC TX related and why we are here. I know there are those out there too shy to come out on this.
I reported all this to my MD Doctor after TX. The Gastro Doctor (not my new Doctor) shrugged his shoulders. The MD suggested I give myself (I have no partner)some therapy. Try anything I could to bring it back. Here and there I would make attempts and after a while there were responses. Pitiful at first but the better they got the more therapy I would apply. Then I finally could get to an orgasm but not at full power and they were dry as a (heh) bone. The next noted progress was full power orgasms but with dry ejaculation. Now all is normal, at least untill I retreat again.

Interferon ruined my younghood years.Who is responsible?
Despite poor effect on controlling the virus and many side effects on the brain's stem,*** doctors still continue use this toxic garbage. Never say yes to interferons.its a horrible drug.
I was drug addict for 5 years, heroin injection not ruined my body, but interferon damaged all of my organs.
NEVER SAY YES TO INTERFERON.

Not an advertised SX for sure. Perhaps the Doc would like to do a test trial personally?
Later
Sounds dangerous.
