Tator's Problem

How is Tator's problem getting worked out?

I have 180 200 mg Riba I can send.  I have two PegIntron redi pens 120 mcg - but I think Tator is on Pegasys.

I needed meds last year and two people sent me their leftover meds.  In cases like this the law says it's okay.  It's when you sell your scripts that you have a problem.  Helping someone in need is different.

Let me know if you need mine.

Yup that's the problem I would have sent her one of my redi-pens but she is on the peg.  At least we know we can help each other in the future if God forbid we need it.

I am waiting to hear if she got it ironed out too = it sounded good.

Someone told me, maybe misinformed, but pegasyis company
told someone...they will send to those 'in need' if
insurance is being a pain.
I know I must have missed the first thread on this topic, as I
took off yesterday,  &  trying to catch up on work & everyone
here. But hopefully when meds are needed, they can get them
as I was told 'way back when' ...but was that just another story??

In reading the posts from folks like Mrs. O and Snook and others. I'm wondering if I should send the 40 riba I have.  I have your address, I can ship today for Thursday delivery. I have the riba on my desk.  Should I send it?  Please advise me, it's no difficulty on my end.  I can ship it from my office with no difficulty.

Yes they will send an emergency months supply to those in need, but the biggest problem here is her doctor is on vacation.

Roche and Schering Plough can't just send out meds without a script from her doctor.  The nurses are being a pain in the office.

I like my doctor better and better.  

It looks like the Riba is covered for her, but I'm concerned about the Pegasys shots.

OMG!  Everyone here is soooooo wonderful!  I just love how everyone has pulled together to see that Tator gets thru this!  As of this morn...has anything been worked out?  Just courios because I have been reading.  Wish I too could help w/meds but being in study, no way......I have to return unused Riba to them every month and they count them.  The only way I know I can contribute is......I am going to say a nice long prayer for Tator that everything works out on the shortage of meds and she ends up finishing this tx with bells on her toes!

Everyone.....ya'll are my hero's!

Trying not to sound stupid, but I take pegasys,
180 units...so if I send one, where do I send it?
Is that what is needed? or is it the
Pills. I have them too, but believe it or not, I never
read the bottle to see my dose, just take 2 white pills in
the am, and two white pills in the pm. But the pre-filled
shot, I could spare one, and get a refill?? Would the drug
company know? Do they care?
How do you ship when it needs to be refridgerated. But I get
my refill hopefully tonight, if this fits the criteria, let me
know how to help.

I'm on the Pegasys (180) pre-filled. McKesson keeps me on a tight leash but if someone gets in trouble let me know. I think we all know what a struggle it is with the medications and keeping a supply of the stuff. Dale

Since Tater's have computer troubles, I'll post an update. Her  immediate problem will be relieved first thing Thursday AM. Depending on what's has happenned off-line and pegassist, etc. she may need more help. But for the short term, she should be OK. Let's wait to hear from her.

TatorTot is still having computer probs.  Said to tell everyone she'll be on with a message as soon as she can.

She was just overnighted a 45 day supply of riba and as I understand it her prob with the 3 shots has been taken care of.  Hope I'm not mistaken on that one.

She is of course, extremely overwhelmed and will be passing on her heartfelt thanks to everyone.

I see my doc 1 May--will start tx mid May--after my son's wedding (the 15th).  I mentioned in another thread I am genotype 1a, stage 1 and grade 2--recently dx'ed.
Thanks again--and yes--I will keep popping in seeing how everyone is doing and keeping everyone in my prayers.
It's amazing what I have learned in the past few weeks. One thing for certain--there is a lack of awareness in the general public about this disease--it really needs to come out of the shadows since who knows how many people are infected and don't know it--okay, I'm off the soapbox--probably one you all have stood on at one time or another.

Hey Everybody,
I got so deeply touched, & over-whelmed yesterday evening that I literally just cried myself to sleep!

Never in my life would I have ever expected, nor dreamed of "ever" even seeing such an unselfish out pouring of compassion, love & support!

I think this says a lot within itself for the HCV community!  I got to tell ya'll I am not only speechless, but AMAZED!!!!
Many times some of us get in tiffs here & there along the way (Which should be expected considering the drugs that we are all on) ...
but when it comes to the truly important stuff.... we are all always there for one another, & unite when needed!

I wanted to take time to thank each & everyone of you individually, but I know I am on "borrowed" time....

I realized when I posted that I was taking a "CHANCE" & I broke all the rules, but I was/am a desperate woman!
Which doesn't EXCUSE my actions... merely explains them!!!

I am hoping that I will at least be able to slip this post in, & it remain to express my gratitude... (which will never be enough)... I owe each & every one of you "BIG TIME"...... Ya'll all not only made the "impossible" POSSIBLE... but you also filled a void in my heart from lack of support in the past.... I am soooo deeply touched, I am truly at a loss for words.. & keep getting choked up as I type this...

I felt SURE the Devil was out to sabotage my TX with the power outage earlier today, & then when I received my well deserved notice from Cindy... I just knew I was surely doomed!

I Knew when I hit that post button yesterday, that I was verging on legalities, so I had kind of been expecting that, Had a Gut feeling about it all along...I think Cindy & everyone on this site, are just spectacular folks, & I APPRECIATE that it took the IT dept a full day for my thread to be removed....

Cindy, I know that this does not forgive my actions, but want you to know that I will be sending a donation in a few minutes in lieu of any hardship that I may have imposed on you, & to cover expenses for having my thread removed.... mere words alone could ever express my appreciation, & all of ya'lls generosity!

To everyone that replied, ( & To those that might have been afraid to)... I want you to know that I truly appreciate, your thoughts, actions & efforts.... I definitely have the Riba covered, I'm still unsure of some of the other details as I missed some stuff before I could read it all...

My main issue was, to make sure that it was "unused extra meds", & not jeopardize anyone else's TX, or put it at stake ... I had some offers from those still  on TX that I could not force myself to take.... I can't have the guilt of that riding on my shoulders if anything ever went askew!
But Thank-You, for your thoughts, care, & concern!

I honestly do NOT know WHO Is Sending what.... (Yet) but want ya'll all to know that this will come back 10 fold within the community itself, & all cost will be reimbursed & anything extra or un NEEDED will be returned, or recirculated within our family here ...

I realize the legal issues, but desperate situations sometimes call for desperate actions! What I did was legally incorrect & I apologize to Cindy & Phil for that... I realize that is no EXCUSE!!!

Ummm,,,,  FYI.... Ya'll all I saw was a blackish / white tipped tail DIVE off the back deck.....
then disappeared under the house ( I figured it was one of those possums) lol..
I went under the house & LOW & BEHOLD... it's the most UNUSUAL cat I have EVER Laid Eyes On....
He was shy, & it took a LOT of Coaching to get it... but he was RAVENOUS... Like STARVING To Death...
I welcomed it into my home with a big bowl of milk & some meow mix....

His fur is tipped Black, & if you look close you can almost see tabby markings... but when you pet it or brush the fur backwards... his entire undercoat is solid WHITE... wish I could post pictures...

I thought about naming it SPIRIT (But Chevs cat is named that)... then I thought about calling it miracle, or magic,  then after my notice I thought about calling it a well deserved "Ban"dit... LoL... anyway... I want to name this kitty in honor of the occasion... Sooo, ya'll throw some names at me.. I am naming it in honor of all ya'll... (& Judging from the way it's lounging on my couch, & Purring like everything is purrrfect).. I am assuming he is here to stay...LoL

paris; that is one very familiar feeling, is a severe form of apathy that I also felt for most of my tx. nothing mattered and I could care less feeling. The forum and my kid kept me grounded. getting to work everyday in spite of the pains, kept me focused on something else besides feeling rotten. it goes away after tx. One and a half yr post tx, and i feel pretty much the same as before tx. all my organs functioning as 'good', including what's left of my brain.
