No, I really don't have any links to any research. I found this post way down at the bottom of this page, and thought it was kind of interesting.
Maybe this person will answer questions directed to him?
keep us posted/
In regards to Lloyd Wrigth and Melody Beattie, I would really like to know if these accusations are true? Do you have some links or articiles about investigative reports or is this just word of mouth type facts?
I've done alternative treatments for about 3 years ( not Llyod's ) I do believe they improve the quality of life, but not a cure for HCV. I was under the care of a Accupuncturist and Herbalist. My viral load went down quite a bit and my enzymes to normal ranges. I felt great most of the time, up until 2004. I am now having complications from cryoglobulemia and will begin Peg combo next week.
I always wondered how Llyod could acually say that he became Hep C free. If you can post any links or investigative reports about these accusations, please do. Thank You & God Bless, Sue
Isn't he currently an under assistant to Karl Rove?
this person found this thread in his websearch and commented, interesting trivia....
"HCA
(06-Feb-05) . With regard to Lloyd Wright,he is a classic and succesful exploiter of ignorance, deperation and fear.
Anyone considering buying his products should be aware,
a)It is possible(in my opinion most likely) that he never had Hepatitis C.His business associatep Melody Beattie has stated that at her behest Wright reccently had a test that revealed he was negative for antibodies (HVC).
If negative for antibodies he was never infected.I have checked this with a professor of hepatology.
b)The document on his site concerning interferon by Gary L Davis is undated. It is so old it states that the 'possibilties of Ribavrin are just begining to be explored'
c)The story about his introduction to Thymus appears to have two versions.
In the edition of his 'book'that I read he claims that his brother Duane who 'exists in a strange way'found a reference to it on the internet.
Subsequent marketing by Beattie claims that Wright was put on it by by the late 'Dr'John Finnegan ND (not MD).
In any event controlled tests have revealed that bovine thymus is a worthless quack remedy and has no benefit in the treatment of hepatitis C.
d) His 'book' claims he took interferon, but by his account not precribed by a doctor-he went out and bought it.Just walked in to the local pharmacy maybe.
e)Until taken to task his site had a 'Status Non-Profit' claim on the menu. This was deceptive. The non-profit referred to a seperate incorporation he had established where site visitors were invited to donate money to have Wrights products distributed to others who could not afford them.He appeared to confirm in a radio interview that there had been no donations. It was,in my view, a cynical method of getting the 'Non-Profit'message onto his home page.
There are numerous other unsatisfactory claims-too many to list
Close examination of his message board reveals poor deluded people many obviously struggling to raise money to pay this man.
Typically there is a strong evangelical theme 'God bless you LLoyd'
You pay your money and you take your choice-with Uncle Lloyd there's a whole lotta paying to be done."
Greatbird,,,Thanks and trying some out. Its funny because before this year,,I was not a tea drinker but now I got started and really enjoying it. I ordered quite a bit of the celestial seasonings teas online and would also like to try some new ones. Hope you are doing good these days,,, I started thinking about the first time I signed up here about a year ago,,,I copied a post to me on some very good information and had it forever in my folder to read to my dr. Well anyways,,,it was from you so wanted to thank you for helping out!
Califia,,,lol yep the food topic,,,does seem to bring us running and now that I'm off the tx,,,everything does smell so good and tastes great...This past year,,,Want2live was his screenname,,,and he would come here and do a thurs night posting on what is everyone cooking tonite or take out or whatever...we listed what all we were eating and it was lots of fun and such a variety across the board....
Sweet vermillon fruits? Try finding one of those in Ohio! I don't think so. You California girls have a lot more selection than we do here in the Midwest. We're an oranges, apples, pears and bananas kind of state. (Although we might have a kiwi or two when we're feeling really crazy!)
Chevy--you lost me with the dates. I'd rather eat a prickly pear cactus than a date. Otherwise, the recipe sounds delicious.
Susan
Got to agree with the girls,,,,this sounds so yummy! I'm making this weekend...Thanks for the recipe! I'm also looking for tea Greatbird posted...A little cinnamon daily can't hurt can it..
haha too cute! Well,,,I can't be naughty,,, I have only been off tx now 3 weeks and would you believe I'm already filling out my clothes more so...I have been so good also,,,eating lots of fruits, yogurt,,, That medicine speeds up your metabolism big time so you are just burning calories like crazy LOL And now I'm off,,,its hanging me out to dry... Pockets on my jeans are now starting to look like perfect envelopes on side where my hip is....haha Can you believe this??? I'm so mad!
Yum! I can't wait to try this. It sounds awesome!
I'm like you and not crazy about dates but if you notice they are chopped and you probably won't taste. I have a cookie recipe that I have made for years and it takes dates chopped and honestly,,,you can't really tell and they are great...
Hah! I love the way everyone perks up when food is mentioned.
TALLBLONDE: Maybe someone will come up with a Buckeye recipe.
CHEV: You'll be happy to hear that I always take my riba with a spot of lovely organic half and half. I'm not afraid of good fats, no ma'am!
Chevy--Thanks for the recipe. I'm not much for cooking, but I think I'll give it a whirl. The DH makes yogurt (with organic millk) all the time and that looks like it would be wonderful with the yogurt.
Honey--The tea is "Good Earth Original" and it comes in two kinds, one of which is caffeine Free. From their website: A blend of Masai (Rooibos), Rose Hips, Chamomile, Cinnamon, Lemon Grass, Peppermint, Papaya, Anise, Orange Peel, Ginger, Artificial and Natural Flavors. Contains no sugar, caffeine, artificial colors or preservatives.
Looks fabulous, thanks so much for posting. I will definitely try it this weekend as the local Granny Smiths are at their peak.
No, I swear it's delicious, if a little bland. If steamed, the texture is sort of like canned green chiles, but without the bite. And let's not forget the sweet vermilion fruits, affectionately called "tunitas." Harvesting them can be a little challenging, however, so industrial strength gloves are a definite must. By the way, are you acquainted with the grand old herbalist and ethnobotanist James Duke? (Worked for the NIH for years.) He's very big on culinary medicinals and a lot of fun to read.
Prickly pear cactus. Oh boy, now that sounds yummy (NOT!). Maybe a little cinnamon sprinkled on it would make it more palatable. I'm all for eating my way to better health!
Susan
Prickly pear cactus also controls glucose levels. If you have access to Mexican groceries, look for the "nopales" (cactus paddles w/ the needles already shaved), slice them thin, and add them to scrambled eggs. Eating medicinally is definitely the way to go.

BTW, Good Earth makes a lovely tea that's full of cinnamon. A good chai also has lots of cinnamon in it (i.e., eating cinnamon isn't an excuse to haunt the bakery 'cause that's no good for diabetes either).
